Just found out i'm pregnant and now thinking maybe my last "period" was implantation bleeding?

Hi, i've just found out i'm pregnant with baby #2!
However it's got me thinking, i track my periods using flo and looking back my last period was extremely light and barely lasted 3 days. According to my last period i am currently 6 weeks pregnant, but if my last period wasn't actually my period am i further along than i expect?

I'm currently waiting to receive a date for my first midwife appointment so will obviously discuss this then i was just wondering if anyone had experienced something similar?

My periods were completely irregular before DS1 so i'm not sure what to expect this time round.

I came off the pill about 6 weeks ago and didn't get a withdrawal bleed but last Friday I got what I thought was my period but it lasted 2 days. First day was light to medium flow red bleeding but when I wiped was pink and brown then second day still a few red bleeds but way more pink and Sunday morning just brown then suddenly stopped. Since then I've felt nausea, shooting pains in my right side, bubbling feeling in stomach and can't bloody stop eating 🤣 I haven't tested yet as get paid tomorrow. But what was your implantation like if you don't mind me asking? I assume you had a red bleed of some form for you to think it was a period 😁

Thanks for your response glad to know it's not just me puzzled by these things!
My bleed was light enough to get away with wearing just a panty liner as far as i can remember! but yes it was red/pinkish and lasted 3 days.

I've done a clear blue test that's saying i conceived 3+ weeks ago. Which could mean i am just 6 weeks like my last "period" is saying or maybe further...

My pregnancy symptoms are sore boobs, acne, tasting metal and I was sick for the first time this morning!

Oh and I was also eating for england until my sickness/ nausea hit today!!😂

That was me. I have light periods anyway and mistook an implantation for a period. When I went to my scan it was "oh, you're 16 weeks" let's book your next scan for 4 weeks.

My implanting bleed was red then turned to brown blood. Very light, lasted about 3 days.

Wow! Were you having any "early" first trimester symptoms when you found out you were 16 weeks?

I mistook implantation bleeding for a period and then took a test after I missed the next period. I had no clue I was pregnant for that month an only found out when I went for the 12 week scan and was told I was 16 weeks. It can happen and was a nice surprise as only had to wait 4 weeks until the 20 week scan.

I do get that mine might not be and it could be from coming off the pill but the fact it was quite light and pink and brown for most of it just makes me think. Especially with it being coupled up with these other symptoms which i never get🤔 its interesting to hear all your stories about what you thought was a period and could have actually been IB and I think if I didn't test I'd only be sat wondering the whole time 🤣

Did you ladies have any other symptoms alongside the 'period'/IB? 😁

Im not convinced mine was IB either i just thought it was odd as it came very late in my cycle (day 43 i think) and was over pretty quick. But like i said before it's not unusual for me to have irregular periods so who knows! I have my booking in appointment with my midwife on the 6th Jan.

I can't remember if i had any other symptoms, i'm thinking if anything stood out to me i would've remembered it too!

Yeah I think that's why I'm struggling a bit. My last period was July, and before that it was February so I have nothing to go by. But everytime I have had a period its always been 2 days heavy, 3 days light regardless. Then this one has kinda thrown me off as its been so different but who knows 🤣 yeah I'm going to grab a test today, so may do one if I can hold my wee for a good few hours, if not first thing in the morning 🤞

I'm too impatient and have never been able to wait for morning wee, still got strong positives in the afternoon.

I definitely could if i was really desperate to know how far along i was. But it does look like my pregnancy symptoms are lining up with how many weeks i am according to my last period so im not overly convinced i am any further than 6 weeks.

I was just wondering what other people's experiences with IB were as i never had it in my last pregnancy :)

I took a test, okay probably didn't wait as long as I should have and they had no FRER tests so had to just get the cheap ones 😭 but this is what came up... the test screen is reflective so couldn't get a decent normal picture but i swear I see the FAINTEST line. I've inverted it to make it a bit easier... please be honest if you don't think it is, I will not be offended or upset 🙏⭐️

I'm going to done with FMU tomorrow anyway as I know its a random time in the day 😁

I think i'm seeing what you're seeing the faintest line, honestly!

Do you know how many DPO you are?? have you missed your period?

gosh ignore me asking about the missed period just realised that's what we've been talking about the whole time, the IB!

Baby brain haha!! do you track cycles and know when you ovulated tho?

This was me with my first pregnancy had no concept of my cycles at all!!! When i got a positive test i ended up having to have a scan at 7 weeks because i didn't know how far along i was.

It's very frustrating i know!

But i think you're right it might just be too early... maybe try get your hands on some cheap ones and see if there's a line progression over the next few days

My fingers are crossed... going to do one with my FMU tomorrow and see and if the line is there, if so will track it every few days to see how it progresses! 🤞

I wish I'd never gone on the pill to be honest, just completely messed up all my cycles 😭
