Can I ask what people's bleeding was like how long it lasted post c section.

With mine, it was moderate for a few days, then lightened considerably. Stopped completely after around 2 weeks. Maybe a few days more than that. Definitely less bleeding that stopped far quicker than my vaginal birth anyway.

With my first, about a month I think. It seemed to be stopping after 2 weeks but the got really heavy again.

Coconutmangoprune · 19/12/2022 21:29

Mine was almost exactly as per the previous poster. It was a bloodbath after my natural delivery!

user922218 · 19/12/2022 21:30

Mine was very light by about day 4 almost none and by about day 10 completely gone.

daisydoods · 19/12/2022 21:44

ELCS 1 - heavy at first, then light quite quickly unless I picked up something heavy then it got heavier again. Gone after maybe 3 weeks

ELCS 2 - heavy and lasted forever! Got lighter after a month-ish but bled for around 10-12 weeks

I'm 4 weeks post emcs this Friday, my bleeding still there goes from brown to pink, nothing on the pad seems to be more when I wipe, but not all day can be in the morning then nothing all day, then a few wipes at night, my anxiety is bad and after my first miscarriage I near bleed out I'm scared they have left something inside me, no clots no pain it's just my anxiety, so just wanted other people's stories to try and settle me abit lol.

I thought I’d got off lightly, not even 2 weeks later my bleeding had completely stopped. I was really feeling smug about it and imagining the bloodbath I’d be in if I’d given birth vaginally. A day or two later it started again and lasted til after 6 weeks 😂

Babyghirl · 19/12/2022 22:51

@BCxx
Can i ask what colour it was for the 6 weeks.

Mine was on and off for about six weeks after both c sections. I had very heavy bleeding after both, especially my second. But it was lighter after a couple of weeks.

What I do remember is that I would bleed more after a day when I exerted myself a bit more, was on my feet more etc.

I didn't have a period until four months after each c section.

Basically the same for me.

The colour transition seemed to follow the pattern and then revert steps again. So finally get to the super light brown or pink tinge then bam, back to dark red.

No rhyme or reason to any of it for me.

Mine almost stopped after 2 weeks and then I did a 5k walk, had a massive bleed and kept bleeding for another 3 weeks. I thought it would never stop and it was dark brown and red.

Babyghirl · 19/12/2022 23:28

@Pollywoddles

Mine stopped and started for the full six weeks also. I was also nervous about it but my doctor said it is fine as long as I wasn't in pain/ there was no odd smell which could indicate infection.
