Shared parental pay - how is enhanced occupational pay effected?

Hi - I hope someone can help with this query. I am currently pregnant and planning for Mat leave.

I think I understand how shared parental leave works. I also understand how statutory maternity / parental pay works.

My question is around the enhanced occupational pay offering.

My employer offers enhanced - 12 weeks @ 50%.

My partner’s employer offers enhanced - 18 weeks of parent leave @ 100% (the policy doesn’t specify pregnant person or partner so seems to applicable to both).

If we want to take 26 weeks maternity / shared parental leave each, will we both be entitled to our employer’s enhanced occupational pay? Or is this a question specifically for our employers? (I can’t see anything in either policy which references your partners enhanced pay).

For your employers. We did shared leave recently. My partner got five months full pay but his could be taken at any point in the first year. It turns put my six months full pay could only be taken in the first six months. Companies get to set their own guidelines around this, and HR were able to advise us (the policy for my work didn't make it clear that mine needed to be taken in the first six months of leave). Many of my antenatal group and friends took shared leave and the rules seemed slightly different per company.

Good luck, we really enjoyed ours! We overlapped a bit too and took a family trip.
