Please help, Anyone had a breast lump during pregnancy?

Just when I thought I could start relaxing a bit after multiple losses and with this pregnancy finally reaching 21 weeks... I found a breast lump (hard, long and thin shape) on my right breast in the top left (close to heart) position. Already been to the GP who seemed pretty confident that it is just breast tissue and said pregnancy can cause them to swell as well. But still got referred to the breast clinic under the 2WW for suspected cancer as there was an obvious lump. Not freaking out yet but wanting to ask if anyone else had lumps during pregnancy?

Not during pregnancy but shortly after giving birth I noticed the same thing. The GP sent me off for an ultrasound and it was fine, just normal tissue they said. Apparently some women just have dense tissue in their breasts which can feel like lumps. My GP also said that usually a cancer will feel more like a pea/marble size lump. Get it looked into so that you can be reassured but if your GP is not concerned it's probably fine.

@tiantian1005 yes I did - had an urgent referral and it was a blocked milk duct! It emerged at about 30 weeks.
Hope all goes well

Yes! I had it in my armpit, was only a breast tissue. I know how stressful is to wait, but it is very common, so try to not worry about it too much!

Yes I did and it was nothing thankfully. However it is worth checking because a friend had one and in her case it was cancer but this is extremely rare- you are most likely to be completely fine!

yes I did and was referred to breast cancer clinic on 2 week pathway. scanned and found to be a lymph node. all fine but reassuring to have the scan

Me, it turned out after a scan that my ribs had just (lol pregnancy) slightly shifted position. I was quite far on at the time so baby must have been really pushing upwards. Sorry to hear you've had such a hard time with pregnancies, hope everything goes okay for you 🤞

Same, it was breast tissue.

Starsinthesky22 · 19/12/2022 22:18

Yes me too! And despite it feeling like a hard lump it was normal breast tissue too!

Timeforsinging81 · 19/12/2022 22:35

Yes, mine turned out to be a cyst and disappeared soon after!

Not during pregnancy but I found a lump similar shape and position to you when my son was about 4 months old. Not sure how long it had been there (I'm nor great with checking regularly 😬) but I left it a month to see if it went away as I'm prone to hormonal swelling sometimes. It didn't so got referred by GP under 2WW. Went to the clinic and had an ultrasound which confirmed just lumpy breast tissue, probably as a result of having a baby.
