First pregnancy and very mindful of not sleeping on my back and trying to always sleep on my left side.
How strict should I be about this? I know back is a no no, but Is it ok to venture to my right side or not really?
Also is the risk of being on you're back only when in a deep sleep? Could I lay on my back, propped up awake whilst reading a book or watching tv for example?

I am often on right or left side and really only start from around 2nd trimester.
Have you got a pregnancy pillow? They really help to keep you propped up a bit more on your side so even if you roll to your back a bit, you're not completely on it.
Also, if you wake up on your back then just move to your side.
You can sit propped up watching tv or reading, you'll be fine.

@kernowpicklepie thank you so much for your response and advice ☺️. I am 21 weeks now and haven't yet felt the need for a pillow although was looking at some last night. Do you have any recommendations? I was looking at the bb hug me, but wow the price!

I have the pharmadoc one, got it on Amazon but it's not cheap. They do have similar ones on Amazon for a bit cheaper.
Having a U shaped one but with a zip off section is really handy. I had a different one before but hated it.
