Hi everyone,

So since around Tuesday I’ve been noticing that I’m feeling very itchy. It was particularly bad on tuesday evening and I spoke to my midwife/triage team and they said it was probably due to the cold temperatures and going in and outdoors a lot which I understand but I have also heard about cholastasis which I know can cause intense itching as well. It does come in phases so for instance it was really bad tuesday evening and then stopped Wednesday and Thursday but has now come back again this evening. Has anyone experienced anything like this at all? Could it just be a combination of the cold and my skin stretching like my midwife seems to think? They also said because I’m only 21 weeks, Cholastasis was very unlikely, is that true? Just a bit worried and in need of some advice because I feel as thought I’m bothering my midwife whenever I call or ask them anything lol. Thanks

Absolutely call back your midwife or go get checked out. It's their job to make sure you're okay. Even if she doubts it could be that, you need some liver function tests to rule it out. Don't worry about bothering her!
