LGA baby or are my dates wrong?

So I'm being induced at 39 weeks because baby is predicted to be LGA (large for gestational age). The consultant went through all the possible complications with me eg. Shoulder displacia, risk of c-section, episiotomy etc. But I'm just wondering if the more likely story is they've got my dates wrong and she's not LGA?

My 1st born was a week late (40+9) and born weighing 7lb 10oz (19th centile). My 2nd born was a week early (39+2) and born weighing 7lb 11oz (39th centile). My 1st born was from my ex partner who is fairly short and slim, my 2nd born was from my current partner who is very tall and broad (so we were expecting her to be a bit bigger than my eldest anyway). So 19th centile and 39th centile for those two seems about right. But then this baby, who has the same father as my 2nd born, is on the 90th, already predicted 7lb 9oz at 36 weeks?! Seems like a massive jump. Is it more likely they've messed up my dates? Or does this happen sometimes?

I presume that you've had a few scans along the way during this pregnancy? In which case it's not likely that they will all have pointed towards the wrong dates.

What's your build like? Have you put on a lot of weight during this pregnancy? Are you diabetic, or have developed gestational diabetes? That would make a big baby much more likely.

BTW yes it does happen that babies with the same parents can differ widely - my sister was about 50% heavier than I was at birth, depsite us both being term babies!

Yeah plenty of scans. I'm 5'9 and average weight. I've lost 4kg this pregnancy and shown symptoms of gestational diabetes but I did a week of testing for it and they concluded I don't have it x
