I spoke to my gp and told him I suffered 1 miscarriage and now I am pregnant can he prescribe me progesterone medication and if i can get a blood test done to check hcg levels as I am scared if bleeding happens again. He said where are you reading this from and how do you know about progesterone nhs doesn't provide that. He said if you had 5 miscarriages in a row then we will do further testing. I didn't like the way he spoke to me.
Has anyone else been on progesterone after having 1 miscarriage or does it have to be recurrent.

Hi Emmamoo89
Sorry about the losses you suffered but I'm happy your next pregnancy was successful 🙂

Omg you with your chemical pregnancies just so dehumanising stop talking that rubbish nhs vocabulary! It was a pregnancy of a human not some chemical fact, you are not a bloody rock! All maternity care is cra#p in UK and that is a fact. They have no proper education, no clue and don't respect the fact of life and woman . My lost daughter due to NHS negligence and lack of education and understanding and every pregnancy I litterally hear about in UK is shambles! If abortion is allowed up to 24 weeks nhs is work of litterally Satan! They treat pregnant cows better than women. Disgusting mentality and killer of mothers and babies, that is what UK material care is. Progesterone is like litterally least of worries here, let alone nhs have no clue about it.

@Princess2022 a trans vaginal scan is honestly not painful. It's awkward but not painful I've had over 13 of them. But a heartbeat is unlikely to be seen until 6 weeks. I hope it goes well for you x

Hi, thank you. How much aspirin did you take?

Batbatbatty · 26/03/2025 08:33

@Bubsy1 kind of a zombie thread, but standard is 75mg daily.
If you have a risk of pre-eclampsia then they'll usually advise 150mg

Thank you. I've had 2 miscarriages and I'm concerned GP won't prescribe progesterone. If I can get it, when did you start and stop it? Thanks again

Batbatbatty · 26/03/2025 09:55

1st pregnancy I started at 3dpo (after confirming ovulation) and stopped around 15 weeks.
2nd pregnancy I started when I got a positive test, around 12dpo, will probably stop around 14 weeks

Thank you and was that 2 pessaries a day?

Batbatbatty · 26/03/2025 13:29

1st pregnancy 2 pessaries (2x200mg) per day, this time I'm just using one a day (who knows if it's even doing anything 😂but my gynaecologist has no problem prescribing them)
