Hi ladies!

The two week wait is driving me INSANE so I thought I'd ease my pain a bit by asking a fun question.

If you did, how did you know you were pregnant before the positive test?
What was that little telltale sign that was different from your usual PMS symptoms 😁

Sense of smell and tiredness for first.
Second very very sore boobs.

I always know I'm pregnant because I get tearful!

I was driving and saw a tiny pony and burst into tears because it was cute and I'm not even a fan of horses/ponies 🤣

Tested next morning and faint line 4 days before period was due.

Ha ha 😂

Ineedtocleanmywoodenblinds · 16/12/2022 09:28

Very tearful and very distinctive metallic taste in my mouth.

TheOtherHotstepper · 16/12/2022 09:34

We had been out for the morning and when we got home I was incredibly hungry, so hungry I felt almost hollow. As I walked into the house I looked at myself in the hall mirror and said out loud to myself, "You're pregnant."

I was still mid cycle as far as I knew, so hadn't missed a period, and it took another two months for the pregnancy to be confirmed by testing. There is a suggestion of a phantom pregnancy in my medical notes because I was insisting I was pregnant, but tests were coming back negative.

No pregnancy symptoms at all throughout. Baby born 39 + 6 calculated from my LMP.

overthinkersanonnymus · 16/12/2022 11:14

@TheOtherHotstepper that's amazing!! Did you not have a "period" either in those two months? And did you just keep testing till you got a positive?

BlackKittyMama · 16/12/2022 11:24

Swollen boobs, dizziness/mild nausea and a strong aversion to coffee (which I usually love!) it was the latter that made me take a test, as my pregnancy wasn’t planned

rhowton · 16/12/2022 11:37

I always get spots on my chin a few days before my period. I didn't get spots with the first two, so assumed j wouldn't with the third. I knew around 4 days before a positive test.

This made me burst out laughing 😂

Anewhoo · 16/12/2022 13:40

Felt nauseous, thought I was just hungover initially!

heartbroken22 · 16/12/2022 14:02

I was around 3 weeks and 2 days and felt the most awful fatigue and just felt like something was cooking in my stomach...my breasts felt heavy and just felt this need to take a test.

ChessieDarling · 16/12/2022 14:12

I was sick several times the evening before I was due to start fertility treatment, and took a test the next morning as a ‘there’s no way, I need to rule this out’ test… very VERY positive! I then threw up multiple times nearly every single day until the day of my c-section. The fact that it had taken us so long to get to the pregnancy helped me tolerate the vomiting I think. Also I felt generally fantastic besides the consistent throwing up 😂
Fingers crossed for a positive for you!

meatballsoup · 16/12/2022 14:20

Missed a period, did a test

whatdoiactuallydo · 16/12/2022 14:24

Thank you all ladies!! I appreciate you all sharing your stories.
I’m noticing a few patterns here!!

Gagging when I was brushing my teeth. Had done a test and was negative then a few days later when my period was 4 days late it was positive. Now 17wks today with my rainbow

cucumberegg · 16/12/2022 14:51

With my first I kept having mega dizzy spells where I had to lie down. With my second we weren't even trying but I just woke up one day and "knew" I was pregnant. Sounds stupid and I tried to brush it off as my baby was only 5 month old and I was just waiting for my pill to come back in stock, but later that day I caved and bought a test. He's just turned 2!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 16/12/2022 14:58

Baby #1 projectile vomiting. Baby #2 food suddenly tasted absolutely disgusting.

I have really, really irregular periods though, thanks to PCOS, so found out at 7 weeks the first time and 5 weeks the second. Second time I'd actually taken a test and got a negative, but knew I was pregnant when I took a glug out of an Aperol Spritz and it tasted absolutely rank.

DuchessofSandwich · 16/12/2022 15:57

I feel less pregnant when I actually am. So no weird symptoms is a good one for me.

rebecca100 · 16/12/2022 17:00

Late period, nauseous and being sick, tiredness and went off tea massively. The tea is what confirmed it for me 🤣. Did a test after having these symptoms for a week and I was 5+1. Good luck! x

speakout · 16/12/2022 17:11

I didn't have a clue.
I was 16 weeks and had no idea.
The first clue came when I sat down for a sewing project.
I had bought a work skirt 2 months prior- that I loved, but it was too big in the waist- it was a wrap over slim skirt.
I bought it knowing I was handy with a needle, and put it on one Sunday afternoon to measure.
It wouldn't fasten as it was too tight.
I was questioning my understanding or memory.
The next day OH came up to hug me and said " I think you better take a pregnancy test- I think you are pregnant"
So I did and I was.
A surprise to me- I had no symptoms, no clue, felt normal.

Turefu · 16/12/2022 17:13

Day after my expected period didn’t come, I’ve done a test, normal, no frills Boots one. Positive. My son was born 9 months later.

From my lofty position as an elder, I should be telling you to STOP trying to predict patterns! But it's pretty interesting isn't it?

Similarities seem to be- sore boobs, sore lower abdo with possible dragging feeling, heightened sense of smell, metallic taste in mouth, aversion to usual foods. Then others who had no idea they were preggers.

Hope you get the result you're after! If so, the symptom-spotting truly starts in earnest, you won't know yourself. If not, you know what to look for next time 😀

Lalalul · 19/12/2022 22:24

I had cramps for a few days that fat a bit like period pain but not quite the same. I was also hungry even after eating a big meal. What topped it for me was having a glass of port and having heartburn for the first time ever after. I held off and then tested at 13dpo and what do you know - positive. Funny enough my symptoms have pretty much gone now apart from sore boobs which has been constant since ovulation. I’m currently just 6 weeks

BCxx · 19/12/2022 22:48

Went to see elf at the cinema the other week and cried when there was enough Christmas spirit to make the sleigh fly at the end 😭 As the tears left my eyes I thought, I’ve got to be! Sure enough, 4 days later I got my bfp

RestrictedSection · 19/12/2022 23:05

From about 7 dpo I had a few weird dizzy spells. Went to the loo at work one day and had to hold onto the wall because the cubical was spinning so much - I nearly fell over.

Was really relieved when I tested positive a few days later, because if I hadn’t been pregnant I would have been worried something was really wrong with me!

ChigedyJigHeeHawHeeHawItsDominicTheDonkey · 19/12/2022 23:49

Insane tiredness
Massively sore boobs
Aversion to chocolate
Milk in drinks tasting like it was off
