Hello,
I was diagnosed with cholestasis of pregnancy at the weekend.
I had a bile level of 33 on Saturday, bile tested again on Monday which came back as 14, tested again yesterday and results are 9.
so they seem to be going down which is good but I’m still really itchy and having pale stools.
has this happened to anyone else? I’m taking medication they prescribed for the bile levels.
when will the itchiness go, I thought if my bile levels are low it would go?
thank you!!

Hello,

I had this in my last pregnancy and was induced at 38 weeks with levels over 40. They didnt even offer me any medication for it, perhaps as I was at term anyway How far along are you?

I am currently 35 weeks and having weekly bloods which have been ok so far. Not sure if I am paranoid but I am feeling itchy this time around. Its definitely not as bad as it was before so perhaps just hormones.

I know that it takes a while for it to show up in bloods even after you start itching so similar might be true of when it goes the other way - i.e. still itching even though levels are showing as normal. Mine did disappear soon after I gave birth so there is always that!
