Hi everyone just a bit worried as I have been having cramps obviously during pregnancy nothing too bad bearable. I know this is due to the growing stomach and everything. But last night I started to get waves of intense cramping all over my stomach it would be minutes in between so I thought I probably just need the toilet. As I got there they just seemed to get even worse one after another I had to really force bowel movement and at one point felt like I was going to pass out had to lay on the floor and call my brother to get me some water. After 10 minutes it stopped still got mild cramps but not as bad as that. Just really worried me how intense and how unbearable the pain was. It was asif my stomach was tightening. I was close to calling an ambulance I don’t know if I’m being dramatic but I’ve never felt pain like that. Any advice wether to speak to my midwife or call the doctors. I was going to wait and see if it happens again not sure if this is normal. I’m probably just thinking the worse but would like to see if anyone’s had similar situations. Thanks

Hi, First Time Mum here at 19 weeks so can't offer any previous experience unfortunately, but tightening (I've heard/read) can be down to braxton hicks?... but not sure they're that intense - if it were me, I would call midwife today and speak to them about it just to get their opinion... sorry it was so painful for you though, sounds horrid!

Get checked out. Call midwife. Some pains can be normal as baby grows but as the cramps are intense that needs to be looked at.

Definitely call midwife. Cramps that ease when you move or are random are likely to be ligaments etc. Cramps in waves or patterns are more concerning

Get checked out to put your mind at ease. I had intense contractions around 16w, lasted for about a week, almost constant! 3rd child so I know what contractions feel like! Everything was well and I'm now 36w.
