ICP in Pregnancy

Hello,

I went into the hospital last Saturday due to extreme itching, my bile acids came back as 33.
I was tested again on Monday and they came back 14, tested again and they have come back as 9.
Its really good that they are going down but why do I feel so so itchy still? I am taking medication they have prescribed so I guess that helps with the bile and not the itching?
has anyone had this before?

Hi yes I'm 34 weeks and my bile acids have dropped but yet my itching is uncontrollable I'm in pain and cut all over I have tablets to take but does not ease at all hoping to find something soon I can't take anymore 😞

op how did this end? Itching drivinf me crazy two nights in. Blood test tomorow but dont know what to expect online just scares me

@J1290 I was induced at 39 weeks just to be on the safe side! I ended up having an emergency c section, I lost a litre of blood so I had an iron transfusion. The doctors said the ICP played a role in the blood loss but Im
sure when you have surgery like that your bound to lose a fair amount! I found what I ate would make me itch more (usually fatty foods) I was obsessed with McDonald’s during my pregnancy haha so had to cut that out towards the end! Now I’ve given birth I’m back to normal 😊
