Is it normal to be so drained/unwell 3rd trimester?

I had quite a rough first trimester with very bad morning sickness, second trimester I managed much better apart from feeling tired most of the time. The third trimester has hit and I feel absolutely god awful!!

I’ve developed pelvic girdle pain which seems to come and go but some days I can’t manage to walk up/down the stairs, I’m constantly exhausted (to the point where I can close my eyes in the loo at work and fall asleep!), and in the last few weeks I’ve had a chest infection needing antibiotics, thrush, recurring migraines and generally just feeling really unwell.

I‘ve not felt well enough to come to work some days or even to get out of bed. Pre pregnancy I was generally fit and healthy, I feel dreadful because I keep having to take days off work and no matter how much rest I get, nothing seems to be helping and I can’t seem to get my energy or normal “health” level back.

Nothing came back abnormal from my 28 week bloods, I’ve been taking iron tablets on my midwife’s recommendation throughout my pregnancy, I don’t know what else could be causing me to be so run down… or is this just how the third trimester goes?!

I think what your feeling is normal, the third trimester is tough sorry, although you'll probably get a burst of energy a few weeks before baby is born and start nesting, I did anyway. Good luck 🍀

Pregnancy is just tough on the body. It’s normal yes.

I'm feeling the same as well 😫. I guess it's normal, but you are certainly not alone.

Gestational diabetes? I had it, only found out around wk 34 (not tested previously as didn't meet any criteria). Cut down on carbs, felt better for it.
