How many weeks am I?

Morning all

I’m a bit confused…

I ovulated on CD 21 (30th November).

Got a positive test on 10th December.

My last monthly period was 10th November.

My Flo app tells me I am 5 weeks today.

But if I ovulated only 2 weeks ago, wouldn’t that mean I am 4 weeks and not 5? But then the app knows when I ovulated because I put it in when I got a positive ovulation test.

I’m so confused. I had booked an early 6 week scan for reassurance something is happening in there but now I’m thinking I’ll only be 5 weeks and not see anything.

Can anyone help?

You go off the date of your last period.

Once your scanned your days may vary either side.

I wouldn't recommend a private scan until 7 weeks unless it's NHS.

Congrats!

@Wife2b I mean from last period your 5 weeks, but since you ovulated a week later than ‘normal’ your baby should only be measuring 4 weeks. I’d probably reschedule the scan for a week later xx

You are close to me in terms of what’s happened, only I’m a few months ahead.

My last lmp was 23rd July. However I didn’t ovulate until 15th Aug, which is day 24.

The only thing I would say, is if you are certain you ovulated on day 21 then have this in mind. I used (my ovulation date -14days) = my estimate lmp for when I was asked. I told my midwife both dates and explained. I went for a private scan at 9 weeks based on my estimate lmp and not my actual lmp. Even that put me behind by three days but by the nhs dating scan I was then put forward two days.

Don’t go for a 6 week scan based on your actual lmp, it will likely cause you anxiety and worry. To be honest I would say 7 weeks minimum based on your estimated lmp, hold off longer if you can. When it’s so small measurements can put you out by many days too. Although at that point 7+ weeks it’s mostly about knowing there’s a heartbeat.
