Hi all! Brand new here and I'd love to hear some of your experiences!

So, my last cycle start was Nov 19th and I ovulated around the 1st or 2nd (iirc). I noticed various symptoms the past little while; most notably mood swings (mostly getting teary over small things & sometimes I don't even know what it is - completely unlike me). Nausea, headaches, tired, breast tenderness, cramping Sat/Sun & a little this Mon.

On Sunday morning, I decided to take a test laughing at myself figuring there was no way; it's too early to tell (so I told myself). Buuuut... I got a faint positive that is clearly another line. I tried again Monday morning... yet another line & a bit darker! (Note: these lines showed up right at the 3min window - package says window is 3-5min. It was so visible, I could see the line from some distance!)

I've been told by some people (and seen in research) 3 weeks is too early to show this strong of a positive and I'm a bit at a loss. Have any of you tested positive at 3 weeks before (3 weeks 2 days now)?

Would love any insights & I'll attach photos! Lines are darker in person than the pics. I'm scheduled for a blood test by a nurse practitioner after showing the tests & was told to start prenatal vitamins.

Thanks all

It’s hard to tell with these test I find. Not much you can do except start the vitamins and wait for the test. I got my blood results back within hours. Good luck.

Looks positive to me. You don’t know exactly when you ovulated, could have been earlier. I got a positive at 9dpo with my second.

hopingfor23 · 13/12/2022 09:03

I think that looks about right for 12dpo to be honest. Mine was possibly a little darker on 12dpo although not much.the cheap sticks are always a bit hit and miss I'd get yourself a FRER (first response early) - congratulations!!!

cococat88 · 13/12/2022 12:02

I'm 5wks+1 today and tested positive at 3wks 3 days on a first response test. Line was fainter than control line but very obvious and it was my second pee of the day!

LMM91x · 13/12/2022 12:09

This looks about right for 12dpo so not sure where you’ve seen otherwise. Mine was similar :)

ChloeN · 13/12/2022 12:23

@Rose1193 i tested positive at 9dpo so 3 weeks 2 days so definitely possible ☺️

Eatentoomanyroses · 13/12/2022 12:27

Yes I think mine was visible 3 days before period was due in a cheapie test. For some reason I always got better lines on cheap tests than frers.
Why are you having a blood test?

Cdoc · 13/12/2022 13:18

Definitely possible! I got a very faint FRER line at 8dpo (I was using Clearblue digital ovulation sticks). Weirdly then at my dating scan I was put forward 5 days, even though I knew when I ovulated!
but anyway, definitely possibly to get a positive that early 😊

FirstTimeTryer93 · 13/12/2022 15:54

I tested positive at 3 weeks 3 days. I just have shorter cycles. 26 weeks today xx

Rose1193 · 13/12/2022 19:56

I feel a lot better about all this now, thank you everyone! I was getting the blood test to further confirm the pregnancy; which I've pushed back a bit.

My understanding is the first test would've been about 9DPO, 2nd 10DPO and today's is 11DPO (attached to this comment).

I was a bit freaked because I was getting mixed messages and told it might even be a reproductive disease. Speaking with the NP eased that concern, though. Hence why I didn't mention it in my original post

Nah you’re deffo preggers. Congrats!

somuchtolearnabout · 13/12/2022 20:03

I got positive tests at 8DPO in all 3 of my pregnancies. Definitely possible!

MrsT007 · 13/12/2022 20:08

I got a positive at 10dpo and am now 21 weeks - looks positive to me too ❤️

Rose1193 · 14/12/2022 20:41

Well, I'd say this latest text makes it pretty darn official (12DPO)! I'm just shocked by how many symptoms I'm already experiencing/dealing with... My understanding is most women don't have any symptoms or they are pretty minimal.

Meanwhile, I'm over here with horrible headaches, mood swings, frequent urination, breast soreness & darkening areolas, morning sickness & smell aversions, cramping... I haven't even missed my period yet! 😅(3 days to it's expected start)

If you ovulated on 1st dec then your period would likely be due tomorrow. Usually the luteal stage is around 14 days but it can vary slightly.

Blue2020 · 14/12/2022 21:48

As in expected based on ovulation and cycle, obviously hopefully it won’t arrive.

Rose1193 · 14/12/2022 23:14

Hmm, probably ovulated on the 3rd then... my cycle follows the standard 28 days generally and my cycle tracking app shows this month is due on the 17th. I'm not sure exactly when I ovulated, so I was going off the 2nd but I'll start counting from the 3rd. Which means this is actually 11DPO with the first at 8DPO.

And yes, expected based on the tracking! It shouldn't come in 😅

Update: Blood test results are in! Based on a chat with my doctor, it's been determined blood was drawn between 12-14DPO w/13 most likely (Dec 15th). The value was 353iu🤯🥳! Possibly twins 😅 So, definitely pregnant!

OP posts:
Muffinmummy1 · 05/01/2024 15:20

Was it twins? I've had my positive test on 9 days before my period is due! Today's test 5 days before is getting quite dark so just wondering if its because of early ovulation or multiples 😅
