HCG blood draws

Hello! I'm about 6 weeks pg after 3 losses this year. I have one 5 year old son. I'm feeling really anxious about being pregnant - it's what I desperately wanted but the reality of being pregnant after a fair amount of losses is proving really tough.
Does the NHS do HCG blood test draws to check rise in HCG is what can be expected? Or do I need to go private? Google isn't necessarily being that helpful here!
If anyone has any experience of getting HCG blood tests I'd be grateful to hear from you! I'm based in South East London.

I'm really sorry for your losses. I sadly had 4 miscarriages before having my son a couple of months ago. From my experience, even with my history, the NHS wouldn't test my HCG unless there was a specific reason. I think they've only tested it during one of my pregnancies when I had pain but no bleeding. I have had early scans though (around 7 weeks) and with my most recent pregnancy another scan at 10 weeks as well (due to me twice having missed miscarriages before 12 weeks after ok scans at 7weeks). I would recommend contacting your Early Pregnancy Unit, explain your situation and see what they can offer. If they can't do what you want, you might have to go private. Wishing you the best of luck x

Hi OP - neither my GP nor EPAU were able to do hcg bloods - so I had to get them done private with both my miscarriages and current pregnancy (12 weeks+ now). Just have a google of beta hcg private tests near you or look for private clinics and give them a call to see if they can do the blood test. There are also companies who post a kit to you and you can post back. So sorry about your losses and Best of luck. X

If you are on Facebook, I would also recommend the PALS (pregnancy after loss support) group on there. I found it helpful for the anxiety I had during my pregnancies.

Hi, I was under RMC after 4 losses, they told me as soon as I fell pregnant again I had to ring EPU & go in to have my hcg levels checked & also to be put on progesterone, I was also offered weekly reassurance scans up to 12 wks, I'm now 32 wks & everything has been going well, I've been lucky with the extra care I've recieved in this pregnancy, hope you can get the same, good luck xx

Thank you so much for sharing everyone. I've booked a private HCG blood test and will hopefully go in later this week. So funny I'm actively seeking these as I hate needles 😂
I might pluck up the courage to call the EPU to see if there's anything they can do for me.
I'm sorry for all your losses, and am grateful for your replies and kindnesses. X
