I am 37 and pregnant with my first pregnancy. I had a 1 in 13 chance of Down syndrome after my dating scan and bloods. We decided to go with NIPT test with the NHS. How long did people wait for results for this?
I am freaking out about it all. I’m so heart broken and i am wishing with every fiber it comes back low risk and I can enjoy this pregnancy again

Hi OP, I’m so sorry you are going through this, the wait is hell. I was 1 in 14 at age 30, I opted for the NIPT with the NHS, had my test on a Monday and had my result back the following Monday. I’m pregnant with my third now and skipped the NHS testing entirely and paid for the Harmony test privately, and again my results took one week from day of testing. Be kind to yourself, remember that you still have over a 90% that everything is ok, I know how hard it is to remind yourself of this but if I could turn back time I would really focus on this as I made myself ill with worry. ARC were recommended to me, a charity that can help talk everything through with you, I never called but they come highly recommend

Thank you for your reply and kind worlds. I am probably worrying myself too much, it has consumed everything and I just feel sick constantly about it. I keep seeing all these positive stories and thinking it makes me being high risk with the NIPT test more likely as some one has to get it. I know that’s not how it works but it’s hard not to think the worst. I had my test on Tuesday and it’s Monday as I type. Hopefully I won’t have much longer to wait and it’s good news.
