I'm around 14 weeks and last night I had the sensation where you're stomach drops like when you go over a hill, but just on my left side?? It lasted half an hour or so and started again when I got in bed.

Just wondering if the sensation I had last night could be the baby moving or if it's way too early?

I've read early 'quickening' can feel like butterfly wings but has anyone ever had this weird hill drop sensation only on one side and thought it could be baby movement 🤣?

I had pains in my left side around 11/12 weeks but it was concluded that it was due to stretching and growing pains in my uterus. Had normal scan etc. So weird I keep getting pains and now this sensation thing on one side.

🤔

Definitely possible. It’s how I discovered I was expecting my first. I was around 15 weeks and my tummy felt like it was doing little somersaults.

@MyEasterEggs wow you didn't find out until 15 weeks?? I can't imagine that!!

Good to know that feeling could be what it is xx

With my first I felt kicks very early about 14 weeks. It felt like I was being poked from the inside out! I didn't realise to start with that it was kicks but about 2/3 weeks later I was lying down watching a film and was watching my bump when I felt the sensations and I could actually see it move! I'm very slim, I don't know if that makes a difference or if it was how he was positioned. With my second I didn't really movement so early about 16 weeks.

Neither can I! Stark contrast to more recent experiences! I’m 13 weeks with this baby and looking forward to feeling movement, hopefully within the next few weeks 😀

@Cotswoldmama where abouts did you feel it? Was it one side or everywhere? How low down?

@MyEasterEggs aww congrats!! I'm not sure if what I'm feeling is baby or not 🤔

It probably is the baby moving and not too early. I think I felt first movements around then, too, but it was quite hard to tell at first whether it was the baby or just gas (literally like when you have a bubble stuck in your stomach and it moves or shifts. Weirded me out when I had actual gas after giving birth – thought there was another one in there they'd missed! 😂).

Cotswoldmama · 12/12/2022 13:19

It was just below my belly button. I'd feel the sensation then if I stayed really still and looked he usually moved again in the same spot not long after.

@Williams3001 🤣 that would be a surprise & a half!!!

Mine wasn't like gas though, it felt really odd like I was driving over a big hill. Also don't understand why it's only on one side.
Was yours central too like @Cotswoldmama?

Been having aches when I lay down on my side at night. My left side feels so tingly , almost like pins and needles 🤔

@Belami you could be brewing a really huge fart. I can’t believe how windy I am this pregnancy. And the heartburn ❤️‍🔥

It’s not too early though. I felt butterflies and ‘flips’, went for a scan and there she was!

Belami · 12/12/2022 14:55

@MyEasterEggs 🤣 that made me lol!!! Hope your heartburn and wind ease a bit.

The baby is super active when Ive seen it on scans but because I keep getting left sided aches/pains anyway I can't tell if that was baby movement or related to the pains. Good to know feeling movement is possible at 14 weeks though 👍

Anyone have any idea what pins and needles in your hip could mean when laying on your side?
