Low implantation following IVF

I was wondering if anyone could help / advise if they've experienced anything similar? I'm currently 6 weeks & 4 days. We underwent ICSI to get pregnant. We had our first scan yesterday, where it showed baby's heart beat and the sac all good and healthy. The only issue we had was the sac was low, towards my cervix. The nurse said we have a higher chance of miscarriage, and we need to go back for a scan next week.
Has anyone had any positive outcomes from this? Just kind of waiting for the inevitable to happen now... this is my first pregnancy. Thanks x

I had a private scan at 7+4 and was told it was low implantation too (middle 1/3 uterus). But at my booking appt, midwife wasn’t too concerned and just said there isn’t much you can do until you pass first trimester so I think it’s one of those added risks but you just have to take it one day at a time.

Hope all goes well for your next scan 🤞🏽

@septembersapphire7 ah did you, how many weeks are you now? I suppose its just a case of take each day as it comes and hope for the best, I just didn't realise it was even a thing that there was a wrong place to implant 🤯 Thank you 🤗 its only 6 days away but going to feel like a lifetime 😅 x

I’m slightly a little different to you I went through ivf had 5dt on the 4th November. Got positive but 13dp5dt my levels came back at 34. Four days later was 48 was told to go off progesterone a week later I was sent to epu couldn’t see anything on scan had bloods done came back my levels were 189. Had bloods done again 2 days later and levels were 322 and again 2 days after that 513. I’m now waiting on my scan on Monday to see how things are going so it’ll be 10days since I had anything done and the wait is atrocious. I’m in complete limbo if this pregnancy is going ahead or not.
I pray your scan is good and baby is in right position x

@Shannon88 it's awful isn't it, feel like from day 1 of starting ivf it's been such a roller coaster of emotions!
I'm not too sure on hcg levels, as I only had one set of bloods done on 10dp5dt and my levels were at 172, but they never retested me, I just had to wait for my scan 17 days later, which was when I found out about the sac being low down.
Got everything crossed for you for your scan on Monday 🤞 if your hcg levels have gone up, surely that's a good sign 🤞
Thank you, these 6 days are going to feel like a lifetime 😫x

I was so nervous when I started the injections thinking that’s gonna be the worse part! How wrong was I..!! The wait and the unknown after transfer is by far the worse part of it .
I envy people who get pregnant naturally and don’t have to think on the 2ww.
yeah there hoping with the levels going up it’ll be okay but I don’t feel pregnant at all. Hopefully it’ll all go into place on your next scan. Try and keep busy the waiting part is the worse x

Hi @Girlthatwantshelp how was your scan? Hope all is well!

I am at 10w now with no symptoms .. been told my dating scan won’t be until 13+2 so just twiddling my thumbs and waiting now 😬 glad I have Christmas and new year to keep me busy or I’d be pulling my hair out!!!

@Girlthatwantshelp I know this is an old thread but was just wondering what happened in the end? I am in a similar situation and not feeling very optimistic. Would be grateful if you could share your outcome, whether it was positive or negative. Thanks so much x

@Ecdysiast Aww, I'm sorry to hear you're going through the same. The stress and worry at that point is awful. But everything turned out fine for us. We went to the scan the week after, and the embryo was still low, the nurse advised us that we were at higher risk of low lying placenta, which I did end up having! I had placenta previa, which is where the placenta covers the cervix completely and I would need a csection. I did end up with a few complications along the way, I had some quite heavy bleeding which led to my baby being born at 34 weeks. This isn't always the case for low lying placenta, I think I was just an unlucky one! I'm sat here with my 4 month old boy in my arms now, who's happy and healthy, so try to remain positive 💕

Hi @Girlthatwantshelp Thanks so much for your reply and congratulations on your little one. I'm feeling really down at the moment because I've seen a few doctors and they seem to think the embryo implanted on my Cesarian scar and that's why it's low. Apparently this happens in 1 in 2000 pregnancies and I am that 1.They've said continuing with the pregnancy could be life-threatening to me and the baby. We also had ICSI so this pregnancy was very much wanted. I'm going to see a specialist tomorrow to get the final word. Feeling pretty nervous and can't sleep!
