Pain at 5 weeks

Just need some advice please! I'm only 5 weeks pregnant and its my first pregnancy, I'm just so worried about something going wrong! I've had a funny pain on the right side of my uterus for a couple of days, its not constant and its quite a dull burn type pain, sort of feels like a pulled muscle. It goes away when I stand up and move around. Has anyone else had this and had a healthy pregnancy? I've booked an early scan at 7 weeks as I'm just so worried its an ectopic pregnancy or I'll lose the baby

@ElleH13 hey! I’m in the same boat and have similar - i think it’s a cyst giving me a bit of trouble - I found people’s description of a corpeus luteum cyst to pretty much match what I’d been feeling. Like you I have a scan booked in 2 weeks, no bleeding or anything so just hoping it’s not anything sinister but have to wait. The waiting is the worst!!xxxx

The waiting definitely is the worst bit! I'm glad I booked an early scan as I think it will help ease my worries. Just looked up corpeus luteum cysts and think that sounds like what I'm feeling too so thank you so much! It does say it's not usually anything to worry about so that's a bit of relief. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope you're not feeling too rough and all goes well for you <3 xxxx

I've had this in both my pregnancies. First one I had a private scan where they told me I had a cyst then after intense pain doubled over I got sent for an emergency scan at the hospital. They couldn't see the cyst so verdict was the cyst had popped and caused the pain.
Second pregnancy had dull and sharp pains on one side and was encouraged to ring 111 as doctors just about to close. A doctor rang me back and told me to go to hospital. I spent 12 hours there in total with blood tests etc but as I wasnt quite 6 weeks they sent me home with an appointment for when I was 6 weeks. Scan showed everything was fine and they thing pain was because of scarring from first birth (I had manual removal of blood clots which was quite brutal). I get pain on that side every month when Im ovulating too.

My point is. It is probably completely normal. Take some paracetamol. Try a bath. Hot water bottle etc. Any bleeding or intense pain or shoulder pain ring gp if the day or 111 after hours or if too bad an ambulance. You know what you're looking for ladies and best of luck to you both 💜

How did you both get on? X

LMM91x · 02/01/2023 10:21

@Bumblebee412 hey! Went for a scan at just under 7 weeks and all fine and in the right place 😃 - no sign of any cysts and the pain had gone away a week or so before the scan so think it absorbed!

@Bumblebee412 @LMM91x hi ladies just thought I'd give you both an update as I had my 12 week dating scan this morning. I'm 12+6 and everything looks perfect! Was overjoyed as I've been convincing myself all the way through something would go wrong. But then this morning there he/she was! wriggling and squirming around. A perfect healthy baby 🥰🥰 @LMM91x hope everything is going okay with your pregnancy lovely xxx
