Strep throat third trimester

I currently have woken up with a dry throat when I swallow only eased by drinking or food - I’m worried that it’s Strep? Will I need antibiotics? No fever just slight dry cough and a scratchy throat

I'm also suffering. Those are common symptoms for a variety of things. See if you can get a good photo of the back of your throat, call your GP, inhale steam, drink hot honey/lemon/ginger, rest.

I’ve had a little look with the torch I can’t see any white spots and it’s not particularly ‘red.’ I want to avoid antibiotics if possible as I only want to take them when I really need them but also will do anything to make sure baby is safe!

In second trimester with strep atm, 27 weeks. My uvula was massive and I had red and white spots everywhere. Started antibiotics two days ago and its almost already all gone. Try not to panic

My experience of strep is opposite - eating and drinking did not ease it at all, was terribly painful doing either. Also throat was covered in white patches and streaks of yellowy pus, I mean it was very obviously "bad" looking, zero doubt. But of course ask a doctor to assess you if concerned at all.

Call your GP for advice tomorrow, no one can diagnose you on here and it wouldn't be safe to take medical advice from strangers on the internet. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys you’re awesome - it’s filled me with abit more reassurance as I was panicking! Calling the doctor tomorrow to get their opinion hoping it’s just a cold as my partner has had one!
