Second baby fully engaged at 38+6 weeks - does that mean it it is coming soon?

Having been 3/5 engaged for what feels like forever, ds2 is now fully engaged. Mw said she'd be surprised if he hadn't emerged within the week (and would do a sweep at 40 weeks if that was the case).

But after doing a bit of a search on here it seems that lots of fully engaged babies are late. Don't know what to think. I hate all this uncertainty.....

In my experience i went into labour 2 weeks early about 1 week after being fully engaged, my MW sounds like yours, she said to me i dont see you going full

Depends on your definition of soon - would think he would be here within 25 days..

My DD , 2nd DC was fully engaged then jumped out again and was in and out and actually not engaged at all before going straight into labour and diving almost straight through really quickly. You never can tell.

Was hoping for 100% of people saying, yes, ds2 will emerge over the weekend.

there are no guarantees with this, you know that !!

was your first baby on time?

engagement is just one of the things that determines labour starting and very often second babies don;t engage until labour starts anyway, so don;t think it is that much of a sign

your baby will arrive soon, that is for sure, if i could say when, i would be on a solid gold computer !
