Hey,

I'm in the UK!

When was the first time you had contact from your midwife for your first appointment?

I'm nearly 9 weeks and thought I would have been contacted by now

Thanks

10 weeks!

Nejnej2 · 08/12/2022 19:06

I had my appointment around 9 weeks, but I'd definitely heard back from them around 6/7 weeks - I'd say it's worth chasing them this week, because your 12 week scan will need booking

OrcaBlondie · 08/12/2022 19:10

I didn’t hear anything until I was over 10 weeks. I had to keep chasing. Did you self refer or get referred via your GP?

After my pregnancy was confirmed by the doctor I asked about my first midwife appointment and they gave me a number to ring to book an appointment. Give them a call x

PainAuChocoless · 08/12/2022 19:11

I had my booking app with midwife at 8 weeks with all of my pregnancies.
I phoned GP around 4 weeks each time and they said the midwife would get in touch with me to book the first app. I usually received a phone call around week 5/6 and had it booked in at 8 weeks.

In most counties you self refer now - does your GP know you're pregnant? Even so, your midwives operate out of your local hospital / midwife hub so the 2 don't necessarily connect.

I’m 8+4 and haven’t heard anything yet and am getting a bit edgy with Christmas coming up. I might give them a call tomorrow - in my health board you have to register your pregnancy online which I did.

Rosesandteacups · 08/12/2022 21:36

Have you self referred to your hospital? Once you have done that you should get an appointment for your booking in appointment

itsme432 · 10/12/2022 19:19

I self referred with a form that I took to my doctors reception.

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Will give them a call on Monday!
