When did you get your whopping cough vaccine?

Had my 16 week appointment this week and midwife mentioned whooping cough vaccine but she then added on the end she wasn’t trained to give it so I’d have to come back, but I stupidly didn’t ask when I go back for it or who I see if she can’t give it to me (tbf she didn’t tell me either)

Is it ok to wait until my next appointment at the end of Jan? Did anyone actually get it at their 16 week appointment or is it normal to have to go back in again? It’s worried me a bit that she’s not trained in it, it seems quite a basic thing to need to give, I could be being totally unreasonable though.

My midwife doesn’t do them, I’ve booked with the doctors, same as with my first, it’s anytime before 32 weeks I believe.

My midwife recommended I have it after my next scan (so after 20 weeks). I’m 18 weeks at the minute, I was thinking to book it in January time.

I booked mine after my 16 week appointment. Had flu jab at almost 17 weeks and getting whopping cough next week when 21 weeks.

I think the nurse at my GPs might have said they have to be 4 weeks apart, so something to keep in mind if getting both.

Got mine at my 20 week scan along with flu vaccine x

Had mine at 28 weeks - flu jab in one arm, whooping cough in the other. Was absolutely fine

My practice nurse said after the 20 week scan.

I had this too. I received an appointment through the post for about 20 minutes before my scan appointment

I had covid and flu jabs at 17 weeks, and whooping cough at 20 weeks. Midwife said any 2 together was fine, but would advise against all 3 on the same day.

The nurse who did the first appointment said they'd recommend 2 weeks before the whooping cough, and 20-25 weeks was ideal for whooping cough, but any time is alright. I don't know what any of that advise was based on though.

On another note I’ve had my flu jab already but I’ve not had another Covid and this hasn’t been mentioned, I had my booster (3rd jab) in January,
do I need another due to being pregnant ? Thank you

If you look through your maternity notes you should have something about what vaccines you need and when. I had my flu and whooping cough at the same time, always found I had a really dead arm after whooping cough compared to other vaccines.
You are eligible for 4th covid vaccine as you're pregnant but my surgery does not offer it yet, so it depends on yours. I've had a look at the nearest pharmacy that offers it and it's miles away so I'm not going to bother.

You can have the whooping cough vaccine between 16 and 32 weeks in the U.K. x

You can have it at the same time as the flu vaccine, from 16 weeks right up until delivery. Although usually called after the 20 week scan for logistical purposes.

I had mine last week at 29 weeks because midwife forgot to give me it at 20 week appointment. It is fine anytime between 16-32 weeks I was told.

I got both together (just different arms) yesterday.

I didn’t even know Whooping Cough was recommended until I went for my flu jab and the nurse mentioned it. She said you can have it any time from 16 weeks

For covid jab, yes you get another one now you’re pregnant to protect over the winter.

I wasn’t notified either, so I signed up via the gov.uk website.
