I am mad to want another baby?

My first baby ended up being an emergency c-section after they they tried to induce me at 42 weeks. I then hemoraged during surgery and it was a very difficult time for both me and my partner. 7 months on I keep getting a inkling that I would love another and if I did I would have to act soon as I’m not getting any younger (38) would I be high risk? I’m just worried that I might miss my chance. Or will the feeing go away? Would love to hear from someone who had a similar experience.

I had a horrific first birth with my first son.
Had a second boy when he was just over 2, it was absolutely amazing Xx

I had pretty much the same birth with my 1st 6 years ago with blood transfusions & everything- I fell pregnant 6 months later not planned but wanted but sadly miscarried at 8 weeks. I’m now pregnant again due in 4 weeks & so glad we are finally having another one & the consultant & midwife are being great with helping with any worries I have regarding labour again so I would say if you want another then maybe start trying as might not happen straight away- I’m 36 now & took me 10 months to conceive.

@Bobbi7 - thanks for sharing your story and I’m sorry what you went thru. Congrats for expecting :) it toke me years to get pregent and the birth was such a bad experience. But I was never told not to try again. I might not even be able to have another but I’m scared that I would regret not trying.

You are probably better off asking for a birth debrief and talking through your concerns and options with a midwife.

@lovemelovemesaythatyouloveme thanks for sharing also. I just wanted to hear from people that have been through it. I’m glad it was better the second time. Gives me a bit of hope :)

Thank you
Ah sorry it took so long to get pregnant before but hopefully this time it may be quicker.
someone said to me you will never regret another child if you are thinking of one but you will always regret not having another or something along those lines
Best of luck whatever you choose to do :)

I had an emergency C-section with my son, although it was carried out in pretty calm conditions and I didn't haemorrhage.

My doctor advised me to wait a year before TTC again to allow the scar time to heal properly.

I'm now expecting No.2 in a few weeks.

You're not mad to want another baby at all.
