Faint positive, now nothing, no period

Hi all,

Bit of a weird one and I'm hoping someone can help.

Had a baby 3 months ago via c-section. Had protected sex once since. I never got my period after having my baby so I decided to test and I got a very faint positive (FRER). I then went a bit mad and kept testing with umpteen different tests 🙃 all faint positive but they didn't get any stronger. Did this for about 2 weeks and then the faint lines became pretty much non existent. I felt sick a few days but that's gone now too. I still haven't got my period.

Has this happened to anyone? I mean, even if there was the slightest chance and I did get pregnant after protected sex and if it was a chemical pregnancy should I have not got my period by now?

I'm so confused.

Go to the doctor.

your op isn't clear- how long since the test went to non existent to now? I had a chemical and didn't start bleeding until 5 days after the negative... they said could be a week or so...

but if your period hadn't come back before this then maybe that's the reason why it is still hasn't now .. breastfeeding hormones etc?

Hi Rosiestraws,
Thanks for your reply. My last positive was over 7 days ago now, last Tuesday. Ive had chemical pregnancies and they have all ended with my period.
Its hard to calculate all of my dates (no LMP) because I just had a baby.
I can only estimate.
When I got a positive it was 10 DPO and carried though to 19 DPO and then they got so faint I couldn't see.
I'm bottle feeding also.

Not sure about the positive tests but I didn't have my first period for over 10 months after having my dd. I only bottle fed and certainly wasn't pregnant again.

Thanks Oaktree1952. That's reassuring 😊

Everything is very up in the air so soon after giving birth - it can take ages for periods to swing back to normal and they tend to bugger off completely if you breastfeed.
