Sharp pains in cervix?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anybody has experienced similar.... I am almost 34 weeks, third baby and have never had this before.

I think I could possibly be losing my mucus plug slowly over the last couple of days, but from everything I've read, this can grow back at this time so isn't overly a worry. Since this morning I have been having sharp shooting pains very low down... I would say in my cervix/vaginal area. They are really painful and I know it isn't braxton hicks as I get those regularly. It's like I'm being kicked in the cervix although I believe he is head down. It's like lightning, and only last for a second and although it subsided for a bit earlier, now he is moving around again, it has come back.

What could this be and has anybody experienced it before?!

Could it be lightning crotch? This is something I experienced with my daughter - sharp, shooting pains…they would take my breath away but only lasted seconds - though they started from second trimester onwards.

Thank you for your reply 😊

I've experienced lightning crotch too and it isn't that, it's more internal and deep if that makes any sense 😂 I haven't experienced any pains this morning, so not sure what could have been happening. I'm glad things have eased up though!
