Hi everyone

did you all automatically receive a dental exemption certificate in the post? I never got one (baby is 6 weeks old now) nor did my sister whose baby is a couple of weeks older…

You have to apply, it's the same certificate as you use for prescriptions and the link is here: www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/check-if-you-have-nhs-exemption/maternity-exemption-certificates

I was under the impression it was the same as the maternity exemption for prescriptions - that's the certificate I gave to my dentist and they happily accepted it 🤷🏻‍♀️ it wasn't a separate one. X

Did you check it didn’t get lost in all the stuff they email you or send via the app? If your Trust uses an online system anyway. Mine did mine in the appointment and it arrived on my phone within a few minutes. If it’s via post, there is a link above to apply.

It was done at my 16 or 20 week midwife appointment and emailed to me. Search your emails for "maternity exemption" x
