Early induction

Hi all, I’m just looking for a bit of advice & reassurance. I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant with my seven child (yes it’s a lot I know, I’ve heard it all 😂) over the last few months I’ve been moved to high risk pregnancy and been going to fortnightly scans as they are saying my baby is below the bottom centile. She is growing steadily but they want to induce me at 37 weeks as she’s only weighing 4 pound. (Estimation of cause) I’m booked in for a scan the Monday before my induction (induced on the Thursday) I’ve never needed to be induced before my baby’s have all been 7 pound and over. I’ve never been a high risk pregnancy, I was just wondering about the induction process, could they change their minds at my next scan and say I’m no longer needed to go for induction, or is it a pretty certain that I’ll have to go? Sorry about the long post, I may be an experienced mum at the whole birth giving but this is all new to me. I feel 37 weeks is a little early, I’m not sure how to feel at all. Thanks in advance.

You don't have to do anything - they can offer you induction but you don't have to accept - it's your choice. Listen to their advice and talk to your midwives and decide from there. Estimation is not always accurate but they are the ones with the medical knowledge. Do what feels right for you x

Hi, thank you for the reply, I’ve agreed to have the induction as they believe it’s the right choice and what’s best for the baby, I would never disagree with them based on medical knowledge as you are right they do know what’s best. I was just hoping they might change their minds, I was just wondering if it was a possibility I could go for my last scan and they say i don’t need one, or is it usually pretty set in stone when it’s been decided. X
