Low implantation + subchorionic haematoma

Hi I was just wondering if anyone else had been through what I'm going through.
I found out I was pregnant and 2 weeks later had a small bleed, epu did a scan and baby was there but really low (by the cervix) said not sure if on its way out or implanted there. Got home that night and started heavy bleeding when I got in bed with clots, went to urgent care i was sure I'd miscarried and so was the doctor booked into epu again was told to take a pregnancy test if it was positive they would scan if not I could go home ( the lady was convinced I had miscarried too from what had been happening) we were all shocked when the test was positive and the scan showed baby clinging on heartbeat and all! But behing baby was a huge subchorionic haematoma and that's where the bleed had came from, I'm almost 7 weeks and very worried as I've had 6 early miscarriages and 1 late miscarriage at 18 weeks. I have 1 child and the pregnancy with her wasn't the best either, good or bad experiences welcome! Thanks x

I'm so sorry you're going through this op. I had a subchorionic hematoma with my pregnancy and it was touch and go until we got the all clear at about 16weeks that it was healing. I was very lucky because the hematoma for me was below the implantation site so didn't affect baby who is now 4 days old. Epau were very clear with us that there were no guarantees and I had a number of very very heavy bleeds and had to come out of work for a while. Its very hard on the head but all you can do is rest, take it as easy as possible and go one day at a time. I told two friends I really trusted and that helped because some days my husband was really struggling too but trying to be strong for me because I was so upset. So I'd recommend telling someone you know will be there for you no matter how things turn out. Its also worth mentioning that I had bleeds when I exercised, but also bleeds when I was on modified bed rest so I honestly believe that there was nothing I could physically do to make a difference but mentally I felt that by doing modified bed rest I was being really careful, just don't do complete bed rest or you can be at risk of clots. I really hope it works out for you op, as I say baby is now 4 days old and once the hematoma healed it was a normal pregnancy from then on (although it took me a long time to trust it). So I'm sending you all the good vibes and hope it works out for you too.

Thank you for your reply @Cw112 I've been googling like mad, I know everyone's experience is different but it puts my mind at rest knowing I'm not the only one! No one I know has experienced this so it's hard to find any information at all from experience not dr google lol. Congratulations on your little one! I'll keep this thread updated every appointment so that anyone else experiencing this has a little more information too! Xxx

Hello OP

I had exactly this too.

My bleeding was so bad i was hospitalised as they said the bleeding was potentially going to put me at risk in which case they said they would remove baby anyway.

Sorry you are going through this OP, and for your previous losses. I had a large SCH, which caused a secondary infection. Unfortunately the infection caused a mc at 18 weeks 4 days after the initial bleed. I'm not sure if there's anything that could have prevented this or how common secondary infection is...but maybe worth discussing with your Dr. 4 days after my bleed I had period type back pain which git more intense and turned into contractions. What follow up have they offered you?

@Richtea67 they have offered me another scan Friday so that's 3 scans I will have had weekly and they said we will go from there depending on results x

Just an update to this post, I attended my scan Friday and they then thought baby had implanted on my c section scar so was told to come back Monday for measurements to monitor if it was or not unfortunately at some point over the weekend baby's heart stopped beating and found out yesterday at the scan xxx

Another update to this post, I know my situation may be unique but better to put the information out there for slightest chance someone is experiencing the same, Friday I started heavily bleeding with lots of clots and passed baby. I was feeling dizzy but thought maybe the hematoma was clearing out too. The bleeding has subsided Saturday day but at around 11pm I started bleeding again like I was weeing ( tmi sorry) I sat on the toilets more clots and severe heavy bleeding I couldn't move, partner took me to the hospital and at 2am Sunday at a&e I was admitted and as they were taking bloods I had 2 seizures, HB levels were supposed to be between 100-120 xoming back at 90 admitted onto the ward and still heavily bleeding doctor did and examination and there was leftover tissue stuck inside my cervix still attached in the uterus preventing my cervix to close , more bloods HB came back at 84, at he was finishing the exam and taking the spectrum out I started bleeding out, said I had to have surgery to remove leftover tissue. So Sunday around 4pm I was in theatre getting ready for surgery still bleeding, last blood tests came back and HB had dropped to 62 I had lost half of the blood in my body and was essentially dying, procedure was done under anaesthetic and I also had to have a blood transfusion. I'm writing this to let everyone know that if something seems wrong please go to the hospital ASAP, as I had the transfusion just in time.

I'm so sorry you went through this, what a horrendous experience. It's such a traumatic experience and I hope you have support. I reached out to counselling after my experience and found that helpful. X
