I’m just over 16 weeks now, nausea stopped around week 10 but since then I’ve had near constant headaches, paracetamol doesn’t touch the sides. I wake up around 2/3am every night and can’t get back to sleep, I literally lie there wide awake. I have zero energy in the day, and just feel so tired and don’t want to do anything. Is this normal? Everyone I speak to keeps saying I must feel amazing now I’m in my second trimester and I absolutely don’t. I can’t imagine feeling normal again. Is there hope? Or is this it now until baby is here, I feel like all I do is complain to my husband, I must be doing his head in.

Bad news from me I'm afraid - I've just entered my third and spent the entire second feeling just as you describe, oddly we match on the 2-3am wake too, only I was waking up to be sick and have a nosebleed!

In recent weeks, I found relocating myself to the sofa with the tv on quietly allowed me to get out of the cycle and grab another hour or so sleep once comfy.

I've also have pelvic pain since 10 weeks (started with piriformis issues and got worse from there) which has only added to the discomfort!

As I've entered my third, I've worked out that sleeping in pjs seems to help me go until 4, but still need a little sick and nosebleed around then it seems 😅
It didn't get easier for me, but I have got better at coping with it and tried to reframe my mindset to accept that it's a short term thing that will be incredibly worth it in the end - nothing worth having comes easy and all that!
Sounds like positivity rubbish - and it's not a total solution, just this morning I had a 4am meltdown about how hard it all is - but the mindset is the only thing I am in control of right now!

Definitely worth getting it checked as high bp can cause headaches. I did suffer with headaches for about 2 weeks everyday from 18w till 20w. One day I didn't have one and they haven't come back since. Could be a hormonal thing. Make sure you're drinking plenty water and get your eyes checked also. I wear glasses, while I was having the headaches. I got my eyes checked and my prescription had changed. Not sure if that was the reason my headaches stopped or just a coincidence. But worth getting looked into. Good chance it could turn out to just be hormonal though. The joys of pregnancy right ?!Envy hope you get some relief soon. Paracetamol is your best friend right now.

Hi OP

I'm 15 weeks and sickness stopped around 11 weeks and was replaced with migraine, every single day.

I haven't been to work for weeks and my midwife has referred me to the Neurologist.

The only things that seem to ease mine a little bit are kool and soothe forehead strips, 4head rub and sleep.

Hope it passes for you soon! X
