Hi I’m 10 weeks 6 days pregnant after 3 early miscarriages this year and for the Past 3 days have been having brown bleeding even had a little gush come out today sorry tmi!.. the epu had me in a scanned me baby absolutely fine no reason for the bleeding so my consultant has put me on progesterone 400mg 1 x night for four weeks! However I have been reading that people stop taking it at 10 weeks as the placenta takes over? So I’m a little confused as to why I start it so late? X

Progesterone is proven to reduce the chance of miscarriage in women with bleeding so that’s probably why. I was put on them from 5 weeks until 13 weeks after 2 miscarriages

I have used them up to 12 weeks and now back on them since 20 weeks until 36 weeks (currently 32 wks). Best of luck!

Thank you everyone for your replies have started them last night, fingers crossed the spotting seems to have already tailed off x

The advice from Tommy's from the trial they did is to take 2x 400mg (one morning, one night) until 16 weeks. It's good she's put you on them but I'd question maybe you need to do them twice a day and for longer!

This is what I did after 3mc and this pregnancy is now 22 weeks 🙏🤞x
