Had an early scan at 6weeks and one day.

baby there with a heartbeat but sonographer said she could see a small pocket/sac if blood.

Should I be worried about this? Is this more likely to lead now to a miscarriage?

Try not to worry - I’ve had this with both dc and was fine but I did get bleeding throughout first trimester which was worrying. The thing is once they’ve found a heartbeat you’re much safer and chances of pregnancy being okay are a lot better!

megachocs7 · 02/12/2022 21:42

I also had this, quite a large one. Was put on bed rest for a month then went back to work doing light duties. By my 20 week scan it had cleared. Now have a healthy 9 month old.
Just take care of yourself

babynoname22 · 02/12/2022 21:43

I know it's worrying. Most often you may have a little bleed (always get this checked) or it's re absorbed and pregnancy carries in nicely.

Congratulations on your pregnancy

Diamondbabe · 02/12/2022 21:48

Thank you so much for your replies I've had two miscarriages so I'm feeling so anxious. I just wanted a "perfect" scan and feel like this is just added anxiety.

They said they would rescan me in a week so that's made me worry too that there ha something untoward 😥

@Diamondbabe hey! I had a mmc at 12 weeks in June, so I've been a nervou wreck this pregnancy! I had some spotting on and off constantly from 6 weeks, i then had a massive bleed which lasted several hours, a scan confirmed sch absolutely no harm to baby so far and all is okay, have my 12 week scan next week and have had scans every other week so far to try and help my anxiety x

teachermummyme · 02/12/2022 22:25

Poor you. I understand how worrying it is. I had a big bleed at six weeks and was diagnosed with one then. I was rescanned a week later too, which I think is standard with a sch diagnosis, so try not to read anything into this. I had a second bleed at 8 weeks which was smaller, and another scan at 10 weeks. By 12 weeks the scan showed the hematoma was shrinking and it was not visible by 20 week scan. The rest of the pregnancy was uneventful in terms of the sch. I'm now holding the baby who is 7 weeks, so you absolutely can have a positive outcome. Fingers crossed for you. Try not to worry (though I know how impossible it is) - these things are more common than we think.

I had a MMC when I was 12 week, baby's heart stopped beating when I was 9 weeks and 1 day.
My last ultrasound shows I had subchorionic haemorrhage 13 mm , and I was bleeding when I was 6 and 7 weeks .
I'm going to have a MVA tomorrow because it some tissue left in my uterus .
I want to get pregnant again but I'm worried about another Miscarriage, does hemorrhage will happen again in my next pregnancy? Does anyone has a success pregnancy after miscarriage cause of subchorionic haemorrhage?

BabyB2022 · 04/12/2022 13:18

I had a subchorionic haemorrhage picked up at a scan at 9 weeks, by 12 weeks it had disappeared and had a successful pregnancy and my daughter is now 2. I had a miscarriage prior to that so was a nervous wreck when they told me, but all went well. Good luck.

babyboybluewithtwox · 04/12/2022 13:35

I had one at 13 weeks (6cm) and it was resolved by 18 weeks (I bled on and off during this time) 😊

Baby boy is now 7 months old!

Molz10 · 04/12/2022 14:59

I had one, I had bleeding off and on for the first 9 weeks, by the 12 week scan it had resolved itself.
The nurse told us sometimes it can impact miscarriage but once they’d seen the heartbeat and continued growth they weren’t worried. They also said pocket of blood wasn’t anywhere near the baby either which helped to put our minds at ease.
I’m now 16 weeks any everything is fine with baby. Hope everything is successful for you x

hopefullsosbry · 17/12/2022 22:49

Those that had one and it went in a few weeks
, did you bed rest or just go about things as normal ? I have one, I am 8 weeks .. not sure wether to take it easy or just continue my normal daily routine ? @Diamondbabe has yours cleared up yet ? Thanks

Moosh18 · 18/12/2022 07:13

I just went about things as normal, but I didn't know I had one until I had a huge bleed! It was just very very light spotting before that, a huge bleed, then another week of spotting x

hopefullsosbry · 18/12/2022 11:02

Thanks, I hadn’t had any bleeding so far .. hoping it will just be absorbed and not cause any bother, it’s such a worry though 🫤 good to hear and reassuring that in most people it has no harm or effect on baby .. xx

Moosh18 · 18/12/2022 12:28

@hopefullsosbry honestly I was so so worriers about baby but baby always measured ok etc I thought the bleeding would never stop! But touch wood haven't had any in about five weeks xx

hopefullsosbry · 18/12/2022 13:34

@Moosh18 thats great.. hope it continues to go in the right direction 🥰.. have you had a scan since ? Do you know if it’s still there ? Hopefully it had cleared up for you xx

Moosh18 · 18/12/2022 13:43

@hopefullsosbry I have yeah it's all gone now xx

polkadotdasies88 · 18/12/2022 15:29

I started spotting at 6w and thought everything was over. I had a scan at EPU & much to my amazement baby was there flickering away. At the time they said the spotting was just one of those things & not to be concerned (as if!) It continued to happen over the next few weeks, mostly pink & sometimes with tiny little clots in it. I was worried out of my mind so went back to EPU and again to my suprise baby was there happily bobbing away. During this scan heamatoma was spotted (The Doctor never called it a subchronic heamatoma just a heamatoma but I didn't ask for clarification which I regret!) It was to the left of baby & baby was bigger which she explained was positive. She said it would either absorb or I'd just continue to spot. I'm now 11 weeks and the spotting has continued on and off. Even though I was told to expect it I've still found it quite scary to see. I have a private scan on Tuesday and I'm really hoping everything will still be ok.
You certainly aren't alone ❤️

GeorgiePorge · 18/12/2022 15:39

I had one detected at 8 wk scan and was completely gone by 16weeks without any bleeding. I was never told that there was any increased risk with it or that I should behave differently the sonographer just mentioned that I may bleed and it would likely be the SCH and not anything bad.

try not too worry and best of luck.

hopefullsosbry · 18/12/2022 16:18

@Moosh18 thanks for sharing, I feel a bit more confident now 🥰

Moosh18 · 18/12/2022 17:22

@GeorgiePorge yeah they said the same to me, it may re absorb or you may bleed, but didn't seem worried I think it depends on location to the baby etc, but they would of def told you if you needed to bed rest x

hopefullsosbry · 18/12/2022 18:35

Thanks for the replies .. defo makes me feel less anxious about it , it does look quite big .. it’s 1.9cm x1.3cmx0.9cm which isn’t really that big but I think as baby is still so small 1cm at last scan .. it looks big beside it .. hoping it absorbs into body 🤞🏽 @polkadotdasies88 good luck for your scan on Tuesday .. hope all will be well xxx

hopefullsosbry · 22/12/2022 16:59

@polkadotdasies88 hpw did your scan go on Tuesday ? I had one today, baby still fine , heart beat and growing as should be, heamatoma has got longer but much thinner .. she still didn’t seem too concerned .. it was a long thin crease that shape and surrounded a good quarter of the circle that the baby is in, I still haven’t bleed, I know I shouldn’t but with it getting bigger I am defo a bit worried 🫤

polkadotdasies88 · 23/12/2022 16:06

@hopefullsosbry My scan went well thanks lovely, baby was moving around having a little party! It was a private scan and the sonographer said the hematoma is at the top now which suggests it's moving away, I'll feel better though once I've had my NHS 12 week scan the week after next and I guess they can compare it. I've still had some spotting on and off but I can completely understand how you feel. It's on my mind constantly too 😩

hopefullsosbry · 24/12/2022 11:15

@polkadotdasies88 glad it all went well and seems to be moving away .. that’s great news .. yes it is defo a worry, hoping we both get a nice ‘none hematoma’ scan on out next ones 😁🤞🏽
