I am (🤞🏻) 10 weeks pregnant today. Its my first pregnancy. I haven’t experienced many major symptoms so far other than period like cramps most days and gone off most foods. I have been taking several tests throughout but have left it longer each time and hadn’t tested in over a week. I used premom pregnancy strips but ran out so had some cheap co-op early pregnancy tests I used. I tested this morning at about 5:30am as that is when I get up and always need a wee straight away. The line was significantly fainter, I tried diluting 50:50 water and it is still faint, but I also had a clear blue one that shows + blue, and its extremely positive as is my ovulation strip.

am I driving myself insane with worry that something has happened. I had the covid booster and flu vaccine together yesterday so unsure if I feel a bit meh because of that or something has happened. I’m just so worried with the co-op test being fainter something has happened! I’ve experienced no bleeding whatsoever this pregnancy just cramps (which are noticeable but doesnt stop me from doing things)

should I phone the gynae department or hold off?

I honestly wouldn't panic too much. I had a MMC a few months ago, and the only time I got a strong dye stealer positive on a pregnancy test was AFTER baby had stopped growing. So pg tests are deffo not a reliable source as to if all is okay or not.

I had a mmc. Tests were positive until about 10 weeks after i had the surgery. Dont think it means anything. X

In the kindest way possible, you need to stop testing. They're not helping you, and the results are meaningless at this point anyway as even if you have a missed miscarriage, your body still thinks you're pregnant until the bleeding starts, so you will have HCG in your system (and for possibly weeks afterwards), so you will still get positive tests. All you're doing is stressing yourself out even more.

If you're anxious, your best bet is to have a private scan, or you wait for a fortnight when you should be having your 12 week scan. Early pregnancy is such an anxiety inducing time (I say this as someone currently also 10 weeks pregnant with my second, having also experienced miscarriage). I had a scan earlier this week, and feel much more reassured. That reassurance doesn't last though, as the truth is things can still go wrong, so you're probably going to be anxious regardless! And don't get me started on the anxiety of having a newborn...!!

@Jhug1 hey lovely, if it was a mmc which I am sure it is not! The tests wouldn't change if you had no bleeding... they may not continue to get any darker as hcg slows, but it wouldn't get lighter. I had a mmc and my tests never ever got darker I had to have surgical intervention and they still stayed dark for weeks :( x

Thank you all for advice. Luckily I found a private scan place who fit me in today. So thankful to say the baby is well and has a heartbeat ❤️ I have reassurance now and won’t be doing further testing etc

@Jhug1 I meant to say my tests never got lighter! But that's irrelevant! Congratulations xxxxx

Same. Baby died at 11 wksish, had surgery 13 weeks ish, HCG sky high for 9 weeks after it despite no problems with retained tissue. In MMC, HCG is meaningless!
