One sided pain when laying on side

Hi everyone!

I'm around 13 weeks & since about a week ago I've been getting one sided pain in my left pelvic area. I've had multiple scans and blood tests done since and I've been assured that the baby is fine and it's probably just stretching pains.

In the day time it has definitely eased over the past few days however, I've really struggled to get to sleep, when I lay on either side I get this burning/tingling sensation in my left pelvic area and it's such an uncomfortable feeling. It does ease if I lay on my back but I know I need avoid doing that.

Just wondering if anyone has ever had similar and if so what was the reason and/or what did you do to help it ? 😴💕

I started getting pains at 15 weeks
It’s usually one sided sometimes can be both and it’s round ligament pain that is extremely common in 2nd trimester
It sounds like if you’ve had tests done and everything looks OK so I would say it is that
Mine goes if I lay on my back as well xx

They say generally no worries if if goes away with a position change. I'm 16 weeks and have had left sides pain both due to ligament pain and due to trapped wind

Thanks both. Sorry to hear you've both had pains. I'm only 13 weeks so I'm happy to sleep on my back for now but I don't know how long I can do that until safely... would rather sleep on my side and not risk anything but can't sleep with the pains 😩

@Belami yep might be coming from your colon if left side as that's the side that descends to the rectum. Have you been constipated/gassy/in digestive distress?

Belami · 02/12/2022 16:01

@Melusina123 yeah it's possibly that. I've been going but not as much as normal if that makes sense 😅 didnt realise that could cause so terrible pains though!
