5 weeks spotting Cyclogest and BV

Hi everyone,
I'm currently 5w5d after a MMC in April. I had a scan at the epu on Monday as I was spotting pale pink and brown. The scan showed the gestational sack and yolk sack but no fetal node yet. I've now been prescribed 400mg progesterone twice daily and am on my third pessary. I'm still spotting this morning pale pink - does anyone know is cyclogest will stop this? Also, when I spoke to my GP on Tuesday, I said I thought I might have BV and he said it's best not to interfere if I don't have to with antibiotics or balance activ pessaries. This morning, I think, judging by the smell, that I do have BV. Obviously I'm terrified that I will miscarry and feel like a deer in the headlights. Google says BV can cause miscarriage. It also says metronidazole (the antibiotic for BV) causes miscarriage! I'm already scared I will miscarry so don't know what to do! Has anyone had similar or got advice?

It depends on what is causing the spotting as to if the cyclogest will stop it I think. Its worth being aware that if you are using it vaginally it can irritate the cervix and cause a bit of (harmless) spotting/bleeding. They also made me a bit sore. Cyclegest can be used rectally if this is a concern though so might be worth asking the dr about that if you're worried.

In terms of BV I've never had it so don't know if the smell is distinctive but I do know that 'I' smelt different when pregnant especially early on. When I raised concerns I was told not to worry as it was the hormones changing and the cyclegest was exacerbating it.

@WithOneLook thank you. It's a combination of having a crazy sensitive sense of smell and also a different smell too. I don't know how to distinguish what smell is normal and because of pregnancy and what is not!

Have you had BV before? The cyclogest really messed with my flora and made everything quite irritated so I started using the back door method - so much less mess and you don't need to lay down afterwards.
