5 weeks pregnant already one child just seen the app tinder on his phone? When confronted I am an idiot and I am “being a freak”

OP posts:

You certainly are not an idiot or a freak. Was he able to give a reason as to why he has it downloaded? Could be nothing, he may have downloaded it out of curiosity as it is spoken about lots.

If I was you I wouldn’t have confronted him straight away and would have checked his phone when he was in the shower or sleeping. Why don’t you ask him to show you the app to prove he isn’t up to anything on there?

I'm so sorry, but yes Tinder is a dating/hook-up app, and that combined with his reaction calling you an idiot and a freak, it seems like he is getting defensive because he's been caught 🙁 also not really an acceptable way to behave towards you anyway..?

@OrcaBlondie I would personally never advise looking at your partners phone behind their back.
I have nothing to hide from my partner but if he did that let me tell you we’d be having serious words about our relationship.
Without trust you have nothing.
@Tiff1247 how did you see the app?
Did you meet on a dating app?
I didn’t delete Hinge for ages after me and my partner met.
I wasn’t using it just didn’t think to delete it tbh.

@firsttimelondonmummy only suggested this because she now has a reason to be suspicious - he has a dating app downloaded on his phone and so may have something to hide considering his response was to call OP an idiot and a freak. The app didn’t just magically download on to his phone. Only way to know the truth is to look for herself if she feels he is not going to be honest, and something I’d definitely do!

firsttimelondonmummy · 01/12/2022 15:17

@OrcaBlondie i don’t think that’s true at all.
The OP hasn’t replied to my comment asking if they met via a dating app.
He could have had this before they met and just never deleted it.
I get angry when my partner accuses me of something and say things I often regret, it doesn’t mean I’m guilty.
He should apologise to the OP for what he said, it isn’t acceptable. However let’s not jump to worse case scenario.
Also looking yourself just proves you have no trust in the relationship.
Not a great foundation to continue on.

If he'd forgotten to delete the app he could have said 'I forgot to delete the app'. Instead he was nasty which isn't a great sign is it?
