Breech & ELCS

Hi all,
I posted a few days ago however, attended a scan yesterday at 37+3 to confirm that baby is breech - he is, which I knew deep down.
An Obstetrician is ringing me today, the sonographer explained this would be to discuss my choices, ECV and delivery.
I have chosen to decline the ECV, in my opinion it has a 50/50 chance of working and his estimated weight is 9lb. I'm more prepared for a CS than I am to risk him either not turning or flipping back anyway (please, no judgement, it's a personal choice for each individual) 😊
I'm just wondering at what stage they choose to book you in for an ELCS with a breech baby so I can attempt preparing myself.

Thank you 🤗

Hi!

I had an ELCS due to breech baby last April. I had an appointment at 36 weeks and declined the ECV so was booked in for a C section at 39+4 days. Your area may book you in sooner but here it's as soon as they can in 39th week (I really had hoped it would be sooner but maybe you'll be lucky!)

@Rutennotou Thank you! I’m fairly nervous so praying I get a little bit of time to adjust 🙈
Did you find the experience quite relaxing and smooth?

As close to 39 weeks as possible :)

I was 39+5

Yes it was a great experience! The team were great and kept a very calm atmosphere. It was over fairly quickly too - started just after 2pm and I was in recovery by 2:50 😂 You'll honestly be fine, I was worried about it too but there was no need to be.

@Rutennotou Fingers crossed I'm in and out as quick as you, that would be a dream for me! 😂
