Worried now I may have gestational diabetes

So this morning I am having the test and got a feeling I may have it.

The reason I say that is because I have been having all the symptoms and didn't realize until I looked up the symptoms of it. Dry mouth, thirsty and tiredness

My pregnancy is high risk already due to previous baby loss.

So now I am wondering if I do get diagnosed with it. Do you think they will have to induce me early.

So far the pregnancy has been going well no problems. But I did ask the consultant yesterday about being induced which I previously with teen I was induced 39 weeks because of losing my first.

So now wonderful if I have this maybe they will suggest I go in early.

I am kind of worried haven't been going crazy with sugar foods but suppose not been great lately.

Plus yesterday the consultant did say it was up to me about being induced early but if I have this surely he will recommend having him early.

Will they closely monitor me if I do have especially knowing of my history?

Anyone had to have baby early?

Hi, please don't stress. I had GD. Was induced on my due date. I suggest following the GD diet (easy to google) and speak to your midwifery/birthing team as soon as possible.

GD doesn’t necessarily mean baby comes early. I have GD and am having baby at 38 weeks but only because I’ve requested that. I’m on a fb page for GD and loads of the women on there refuse induction/elcs and ask to go natural and are allowed as long as sugars aren’t crazy and are monitored

Obviously you'll know after the test for sure, but I was convinced I must have it due to symptoms, bmi etc and came back clear amazingly, so although its difficult try not to worry about it until you know for sure!

If you do have it there is loads of support out there, and lots of positive GD birth stories (I read ALOT when i was sure i would be positive!), the facebook group is great too ❤️

I think in my case though I would need to be induced because of previous loss. Because I had pre-clampsia too.

I probably would ask to be induced 38wks but depends on consultant and what he suggests.

I am really dry mouthed and just all the symptoms.

I was already told yesterday by consultant an induction was up to me.

I suppose let me see these results. I would be surprised if I don't have it.

Anyone previously had stillborn and then got pregnant to be told they have
gestational diabetes?

If so did you get induced because of having a high risk pregnancy already.

Didn't want to write another post.
