Hi i'm 5+3 with my second, I'm normally really warm and wander round the house with nothing on my feet but the last couple of weeks I've been soooo cold all the time and especially my hands! Any clues???

Yeah - it's winter

Seriously this probably has sod all to do with the baby. May I suggest socks and gloves or turning the heating up?

do you not think i'd thought of that? somehow i dont think i'd have asked if that was all it was!

Hello, quite near the beginning of my pregnancy I had massive swings in temperature - I'd go completely cold for an hour despite sitting on the radiator, and then be boiling before going back to my usual tepid core temp with chilly extremities. Now I'm about 25 weeks and much more on the boiling hot side of things, had to strip off to vest in the office the other day. The others were going 'it's rather stuffy isn't it?' and I was tearing off clothes and turning fan up to mark 3. Surely hormones have some effect on body temp??

thanks for that. just done a little search on the internet and it could be a sign of anaemia? the other thing i was wondering was just that the blood was being diverted to my belly!

Yes circulation can cause this, nothing to worry about your blood having to be pumped much more around your body to feed baby oxygen, i suffered with this also get some bed socks and slippers and they will test your blood to see if you need iron, get some plain choc down you or lots of greens!!!

I get really cold whenever I am tired so it may just be related to your pregnancy-knackeredness - particularly if you already have one LO to look after (none of that self-indulgent pampering in second pregnancies! )

you need to generate some heat and encourage circulation --- one thing springs to mind arghhhhhhhhh excersize

if you were further along I'd say carpal tunnel syndrome (i had this and it was a PITA) but given that you're only inyour 1st trimester i'd suggest gloves and socks too
