Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? Have been diagnosed at 37+2 and terrified of cord prolapse in the event of spontaneous labour.

Half of me just wishes they'd induce me asap.

Hi, I had this last year and I wanted to go to the birth centre but was told I would be better in hospital plus my waters always go on there own, there’s only birth centre in blackburn the nearest hospital with maternity was Burnley (not keen on Burnley)we have family in Preston which was easier for child care for other children although is bout 20 mins away from us and was a bit bothered of my waters going at home especially when they said about the cord prolapse was told if that happened to get on all fours with bum in air and ring for ambulance which bothered me I told the midwife’s this when at clinic and they said if it made me feel better they could induce me (never been induced) that worried me too but choose to be induced went in on Sunday was home on the monday,I would mention to the midwife about possible induction at least you will be in the right place and it may stop you worrying bout the cord prolapse
