What's happening? I'm worried

Hi,

I unexpectedly found out last week that I'm pregnant. This is my 6th pregnancy with 2 previous losses and 3 healthy children. I have been testing every couple of days to try and reassure myself that this one is going to stick, however, my lines don't seem to be getting any darker. In fact, todays seems lighter.

I would have been due af around now (my cycles vary and I didn't track ov). I know I should try not to stress, but I'm worried it's going to be another loss and I can't talk to family and friends about it at the moment. Can anyone advise me with this?

What's happening? I'm worried

I'm sorry OP. Lightening lines typically indicate a very early miscarriage/chemical pregnancy. It is possible for a pregnancy to have v slow increasing HCG but it's not very likely to be associated with a healthy pregnancy.

If your losses have been back to back, make sure you alert your GP as three losses in a row is the referral criteria for miscarriage investigation.

Wishing you all the best x.

I agree with @IWillBeWaxingAnOwl

This looks like what happened with one of my losses, they call it a chemical pregnancy and it's so shit.

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 16:50

Thank you both for your kind replies. This is what I'm worried about deep down. My two losses were back to back, then I had my rainbow with a slightly complicated pregnancy, but she's a happy toddler now.

If it's a chemical, what should I expect to happen next? I can't seem to find much out online about when to expect the bleeding to start etc. There's no bleeding or pain at the moment.

With mine my period was a few days later than I expected. It was a little more painful than usual but not massively so (and I think I only noticed it because I knew what was happening).

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 17:09

Its so cruel. I have just started having tender breasts and I was hoping it was a sign of progress. It feels like my body is playing a cruel trick on me 😔I guess I just need to wait for the inevitable now.

I'm so sorry. It is cruel and horrible. Flowers

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 29/11/2022 17:20

The time to a bleed can vary - usually will make a period a few days to a week or two late. Hope it isn't too painful for you (physically and mentally). The TTC game is hard x

Nancienoo · 29/11/2022 17:23

when this happened to me they scanned me I phoned my local bep clinic and explained the back to back miscarriages?

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 17:26

I called the early pregnancy unit today. They told me to call back if I had bleeding or pain and if I was still getting positive tests at 7 weeks, they would book me for an early scan...It doesn't look like I'll make it that far though. I know this is going to affect me mentally really badly. My other 2 losses devastated me for months

They do have a huge impact in our lives, nature feels so cruel to women! Treat yourself kindly @SIlverfish31

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 17:38

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl thank you. I just want to crack a bottle of wine open to drown my sorrow. But I can't, just incase it isn't a chemical. I'm so pathetic holding onto that hope, I know. But until there's a negative and/or bleeding, there's still a chance....maybe?

OP posts:
alittleadvicepls · 29/11/2022 17:43

I have to agree with the others about it being a chemical. I’d test first thing in the morning just to be sure.

ratherbthedevil · 29/11/2022 18:01

You will be ok Flowers might not seem like it today, or tomorrow but one day.

If you want a glass of wine then personally I would have one. When I was going through the same thing I just thought that if it does work out then a glass or 2 wouldn't harm it but I completely get why you don't want to.

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 18:49

@alittleadvicepls I'm fighting every urge not to use my last frer now. I know it won't tell me anymore this evening. And they're so expensive to keep buying

I caved and it seems you were right ladies. Thank you all for the kind replies. I'm going to go and have a little cry.

I'm so sorry Flowers

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 20:23

@ratherbthedevil thank you. There is still a line, but it's faint. Time to accept what's to come I think 🥺

Goshi · 29/11/2022 20:30

I’m so sorry. I’ve had this happen twice, and four later losses too.

Both times this happened I just ended up having a fairly normal period, and then both times ovulated and conceived again two weeks later.

Have a glass of wine, have a cry, do whatever you need to do to cope right now.

SIlverfish31 · 29/11/2022 20:40

@Goshi did it take long to start bleeding? Sorry to ask, I'm just wondering what to expect?

OP posts:
Nancienoo · 29/11/2022 20:50

this happened to my cousin and his partner of they wasn’t ttc I don’t think they would of knew. Just like your normal period a tad heavier x

chikp · 29/11/2022 20:53

Oh OP. I'm sorry.

SIlverfish31 · 30/11/2022 00:27

@chikp thank you. I am truly blessed with the children I have, but my heart aches for the losses too. I loved them all from the start 😭

SIlverfish31 · 30/11/2022 08:17

I thought I should update, as it has frustrated me reading threads and never knowing what happened. This morning I have started with a pink discharge that I'm assuming will progress to a full blown bleed shortly.

OP posts:
babyboybluewithtwox · 30/11/2022 08:37

I'm so sorry @SIlverfish31 ❤️

I had a CP last July and I spent a few days sobbing in bed, it really knocked me.

Sending big hugs. Be kind to yourself x
