Unfortunately you are not allowed to fly at 37 weeks, no airline would take you. If you desperately had to travel it would be via the eurotunnel and over land. It would also be a really bad idea to go to Europe without health insurance as medical care would be a huge cost if you went into labour etc, which is very possible at 37 weeks. Insurers are likely to refuse also as the risk of a huge cost to them is too high. You also may not be fit and well enough at that point to go to any wedding, never mind one in another country.

Do you feel you can tell your mum?

You cannot fly past 36 weeks except in very specific circumstances, even then it's for short flights only usually.

You need to explain you cannot be in Greece on that date.

You won’t be able to go. But surely your mother will understand.

NCFT0922 · 28/11/2022 12:53

Sorry OP, you can’t go. I’ve travelled multiple times in all my pregnancies but never past 34 weeks. I’m sure your mum will understand and will have a lovely new grandchild soon after her big day.

How sure of you are your dates? When you go for your 12 week scan, they will date your pregnancy so it is possible you may be a week or two out either way? Just a guess but it will be cutting it REALLY fine and I personally wouldn't have risked it that close to giving birth...

Snugglemonkey · 28/11/2022 13:07

I don't think you can go. You could travel over land, but you cannot fly. It is uncomfortable flying too. I am 39 weeks and flew at 34 weeks and wouldn't do it again as it was so uncomfortable. When I read about it, everything I saw said no flying after 35 weeks.

Hatscats · 28/11/2022 13:37

Definitely too late to fly, I wouldn’t go after 30 weeks really, unless you’ve got very very comprehensive travel insurance!

Batbatbatty · 28/11/2022 13:49

Nope, I wouldn't consider flying that late even if it was allowed!!

Cdoc · 28/11/2022 14:04

I would agree with the other posters unfortunately, I’m flying this weekend at 27 weeks, returning at 28 and I’m not sure even if it was allowed I would want to go much later. I’ve had to get a fit to fly letter from the midwife for due to be 28 weeks on return

TeaAndJaffacakes · 28/11/2022 14:06

37 weeks is considered full term! You can’t go OP.

Wow considering an abortion purely because of travel plans for a wedding that isn’t even yours, that escalated quickly! You can’t fly that late, nor would you want to really, it’s unfortunate but you can’t go.
