Do these tests look right?

I've had 3 early losses in a row, found out I'm pregnant again last Friday with very faint lines that have slowed progressed. I'm 20dpo today, should the test line not be much darker than the control by now? Terrified this pregnancy is going to go the same way as my last ones, where the lines don't progress and then the bleeding starts. Please be honest, I need to brace myself for the worst :( also if I've drank a lot my tests results are even lighter than this

I'm honestly doing between 15 and 20 tests a day, they all vary in darkness throughout the day. I can't relax 😔

Those tests don't look like they have much dye in anyway. The control line isn't very dark. Good luck, got fingers crossed for you.

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 17:56

Thankyou @Msgrieves

Stop with the testing!!!
20 tests a day, so every time you go for a wee… who has that much wee in them?!!!
They just tell you that you have pregnancy hormones but not what level surely?

Take each half a day with no bleeding as a huge plus. When you go to bed and there’s been no bleeding, take a deep breath and smile, you got through another day.

It’s not healthy to be trying to wee that much, plus how much is it costing for all those tests with no meaningful or helpful information?

You know it’s not helpful to do this don’t you?
All the best, hopefully it’s your time now x

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 18:06

I have been bulk buying tests online, it's honestly like a compulsion. I have really bad anxiety and I can't stop checking the lone progression. I know it's not helpful and I should stop testing 😔x

I would suggest stop buying shit tests with hardly any dye, and if you are going to test, then do it with FRERs and only test ONCE every 2 days with FMU. At least then you'll see something

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 26/11/2022 18:10

I get it! I do, I’ve had 7 miscarriages myself so I get it.

What also happened to me is that I tested positive for up to 3 weeks after miscarriage. That’s how I know that they are meaningless other than telling you that you have pregnancy hormones.
I had stopped bleeding, everything gone and still had positive tests.

Mama2023 · 26/11/2022 18:10

You’re not going to be building up enough HCG between tests. Plus these tests aren’t great for line progression. Try a FRER (2nd wee of the day was always my strongest) and take one more the day after, 2 days after if you can wait. You really are going to drive yourself crazy x

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 18:17

@ColinRobinsonsfamiliar so sorry for your losses x I know you are right, they are meaningless at this point, It's just the not knowing if the pregnancy is viable or not is driving me insane

OP posts:
Rosie22xx · 26/11/2022 18:18

You don't HAVE to see progression. A line is a line and it's still there. It's time to go gp for bloods and stop all these tests, as they're all positive. Congratulations!

ColinRobinsonsfamiliar · 26/11/2022 18:24

I don’t think that GP will do any blood tests to be honest.

Mine refused, it was only EPAU that offered them and only if I had bleeding and pain.
They would never do them just because.

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 18:25

Yeah they won't do blood tests

They wont even investigate my miscarriages until it's been at least a year because I already have DC

Nothing to be done now OP except bask in the glorious news that at this moment, right now, you are fabulously pregnant!

Give it a few weeks then find out what the process is in your area. (I couldn’t see a midwife until over 10 weeks and GP not in the least bit interested at all in any shape or form so it’s just waiting and do a bit of research.

Stop the testing though !!

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 18:32

It's the same here, you need to be10 weeks to see a midwife. Thankyou, i will try and relax but as you will know it's so hard x

Are these tests all from today or ones you have done over several days? I know how you feel, after a couple of early losses I was texting oh at work to see if the test looked darker. I found my lines took ages to develop on those cheap Internet ones, I was using Morrisons own to compare.

LavenderAndBluebells · 26/11/2022 19:37

These are all from today, I ran out of the tests I was using previously x how many dpo were you when the test line got darker than the control?

@LavenderAndBluebells I agree with a couple of the above posters, you need to stop compulsively testing, it’s not going to do you or your mental health any favours.
I’m quite an anxious person so I had some early scans I paid for privately for a bit of reassurance (still no guarantee but helped me calm the anxiety).

PointyMcguire · 27/11/2022 11:59

I understand how hard it is after a miscarriage, but you won’t be doing yourself any favours by testing constantly. As someone else said upthread, get yourself a couple of FRER and test every couple of days, that will at least give you the line progression you’re seeking. I also found booking a private scan for after 8wks helped give me something to focus on.

LavenderAndBluebells · 28/11/2022 12:32

I bought some different tests and I'm happy with the results. Those cheap tests obviously just don't have much dye in! I'm going to stop testing now. Thanks everyone

@LavenderAndBluebells hey lovely, I just wanted to drop a quick message, I became obsessed with testing in my last pregnancy, which sadly ended in a mmc at 11 weeks, I obsessed over lines, and they always looked fine,I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and felt myself going down that rabbit hole, it was giving me so so much anxiety. I tested at 6 weeks and got a 3+ on a clear blue and immediately stopped after that. What I'm getting at is the lines won't tell you if something is wrong, they will only cause you more stress and anxiety, and if something is going to go wrong doing those tests won't stop it :( believe me I know how hard it is and you want some control of the situation. But for tofsy you are pregnant! Enjoy it! ❤️

Moosh18 · 28/11/2022 14:21

@LavenderAndBluebells and also congratulations ❤️

LavenderAndBluebells · 28/11/2022 14:42

Thankyou so much @Moosh18, and I'm so sorry for your loss 😔 I'm definitely putting the tests down now. As a previous poster said once the hcg levels are so high pregnancy tests will come back positive even after a MC so there's no point testing. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly X

OP posts:
Moosh18 · 28/11/2022 15:12

@LavenderAndBluebells well this is it, after my Mc, which required surgical management I was still testing positive for weeks! I think when symptoms start you'll start to take reassurance from that! X
