Is this coming from me?! I'm so confused!

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have been having lots of cramps and pelvic pressure today, and I'm not sure whether it's just co-incided with this happening or if it's linked.

I thought there was loads of loo roll shreds stuck around my toilet bowl, gave it a good clean and it was gone but it came back again after using the loo. I can't figure out if it's coming from me or not and I'm worried?! If I fish some out on the loo brush it comes out as like a gooey blob so deffo not loo roll

Is this coming from me?! I'm so confused!

Can you tell from wiping whether it's coming from you? Or maybe put a pad on and then see after a few hours if there's anything?

PandaOrLion · 25/11/2022 21:37

I had the same at around 30 weeks. Lasted a few days but no idea what it is…

herringrose · 25/11/2022 21:56

I've just put a pad in, thanks. I've had a lot of discharge throughout the pregnancy but it's never stuck around the loo like that so I'm just weirded out! Husband is insisting it's just bacteria and hasn't come from me.. but bacteria wouldn't grow back after cleaning then using the loo once!

Ok it's deffo coming from me! What the hell is it? Is this a premature labour thing or just discharge? Blush

It doesn't look like a show really from what I remember. However if you've had cramping and stuff I'd probably try and get a check up.

herringrose · 25/11/2022 22:30

Am I safe to sleep or do I need the labour ward tonight? Gah!

It's worth calling, if you're worried. Is it more discharge like, or watery?

herringrose · 25/11/2022 22:36

Thick and jelly like

The mucus plug constantly regenerates itself. It's perfectly normal to have jelly like discharge during pregnancy. Cramps aren't uncommon at 30weeks and you might start experiencing Braxton Hicks in the near future.

But if you are actually worried (rather than just a bit surprised at the weird things your body is doing) or in pain then yes get in touch with the midwifery team.

DottyLittleRainbow · 25/11/2022 22:38

Call your maternity unit and get checked.

AmyAW · 25/11/2022 22:52

Get checked. Amniotic fluid can contain white flecks which look similar to that, so it's worth being seen this evening. Equally, it could be nothing, then you have peace of mind.

herringrose · 25/11/2022 22:59

I rang the ward and they can't see me as if it's premature Labour they can't help so have suggested I drive to a hospital an hour and a half away to get checked but also said it's likely a UTI rather than labour if the cramps are in my lower back and aren't coming and going. They said to let them know what I decide to do. I'm shattered and not really up for an hour and a half drive but I feel so anxious going to sleep if I'm potentially putting the baby at risk?! Sad

As you're cramping I think you should go, even a UTI in pregnancy can be worrying. Can someone drive you there? Or at least come with you?

AmyAW · 25/11/2022 23:29

I'd travel in OP. Better safe, and I bet you'd get a much better night sleep from knowing too.

OurChristmasMiracle · 25/11/2022 23:37

Please travel. You will worry all night anyway and if a urine infection is left untreated it can go into the kidneys.

always better to be checked over.

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 26/11/2022 20:58

How are you today @herringrose ? Did you go and get checked over?
