So I've had a sweep and stretch on Monday to start my induction. Im 37+2 due to GD they wanted to start me early. Wednesday i was admitted for my full induction process which included having the dilpan rods fitted, had some what i thought was intense period pains that just coming on and off had the rods removed at 3:30am then sweep again i was 2cm dilated. Had nothing inserted after that. Yesterday i had on and off lower backache and cramps but nothing intense. This afternoon around 12:15 doctors examined me said i was maybe 1/2cm dilated she couldn't tell cause i was so tense but my cervix were soft. They put the pessary in since then i have had a really dull backache and period cramps. Is the pessary starting to work i know it says it can 24hrs to get the full effect. I feel like ive run a marathon my thighs really ache i never had this with the rods i know they have no hormone properties to cause contractions. I feel more confident with this pessary.

Any good experience's or success stories with the pessary will be helpful to distract me 😊

Sorry to not be much help….I had propess thurs afternoon and he was eventually born Saturday morning 😬 only dilated to 1cm, and had the drip after that which really sped things up!
Hope it’s much quicker for you.

@CastielGirl It ramped things up very quickly and very painfully! I had my waters broken somehow at only 1cm dilated then Walked around for a bit to try get things going on their own - nothing happened, so drip after that - went from ‘please can I have a paracetamol’ to ‘get me an effing epidural’ within the space of an hour, all my birth plans went out the window.
On the plus side though, he arrived very quickly after that!
