34 Weeks and Intense pain?

HotSun1 · 24/11/2022 22:45

I've been having Braxton hicks all evening quite intense. They eased off and I went up to the toilet. Had a wee and when I stood up felt the worst sickening burning pain I've ever felt and my bump felt rock hard and "stuck". If I stood up straight I couldn't and the burning pain was intense.

I'm wondering whether this is normal or not like is it a spasm maybe for getting up so fast?.
I am sat down now but it lasted a good 10 minutes and in that time I could only be bent over the bath holding on Confused. I can feel baby moving but I feel really nervous now.

I'd call delivery suite and speak to them. Probably fine but much better to run it past someone who knows. ♥️

Star81 · 24/11/2022 22:47

You need to call you hospital now for advice

Doyoumind · 24/11/2022 22:53

I think you need to speak to the hospital too. I wouldn't be assuming they're braxton hicks.

HotSun1 · 24/11/2022 22:53

I'm going to ring them. I feel really scared to be honest I don't know why. This is my 4th baby but I've never felt that pain before and now I feel very anxious and just scared something has detached or something.

They told me to take a hot bath and ring back if my waters start leaking Confused

They should be asking you to go into triage to be seen. Call again, better to be safe than sorry x hope you're ok x

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 24/11/2022 23:44

It sounds like you've possibly confused them with saying about the Braxton Hicks in the same breath as this burning pain. These are clearly two separate things and the pain sounds concerning. Maybe you need to ring back and double check that if it's still going on in an hour, as if you're in labour won't you need the steroid injections at 34wks? I'd also keep an eye on baby's movements and if they change at all, get checked.
Stupid question if this is your fourth, but is there any possibility this could be PGP or is it in the wrong place?
I had agony like an electric shock in my hips and down one leg from about 35 weeks on-and-off, including many embarrassing episodes of suddenly being unable to walk or stand up, no one could explain it, and it turned out DS was oblique and so wedged in that he was pressing on a nerve and they had to really drag him out with forceps in the EMCS (he got injured).

HotSun1 · 24/11/2022 23:50

@PeekabooAtTheZoo Defo haven't confused them. They asked if I'd had any bleeding in the last few hours I said no but I was spotting a few days ago.
She wasn't concerned then She said maybe baby is lying in a funny position. It sounds like Braxton hicks and have a hot bath and some paracetamol.
The sharp pain has eased off now but I just feel really stressed since it,
as it was agony. And I worried if it was an abruption or something. I've Just got so much pressure in my bum and back now. She said if I feel worse ring back as she's on the phones all night 😑.

Doyoumind · 24/11/2022 23:55

If you've got pressure in your bum and back don't you think you're in labour? Call again and tell them this.

BraveFaceScaredInside · 24/11/2022 23:55

If you have pressure in your bum and back call them back and tell them, if I were you i'd go in and ask to be checked x

HotSun1 · 25/11/2022 00:06

I did she wasn't bothered at all. The thing is that annoys me is I've got precipitate labour. All of mine from start to finish have been less than an hour and this hospital has made me have 3 shit labours already, so that advice tonight has annoyed me. I'm going to just ring back and tell them I'm going to come in because I feel like they are ignoring me again. I've never had one this early though my others was 42+2, 38+5 and 38+2. Will let you know how I get on

the baby is on the way i think. good luck, too.👶

GaslighterDenier · 25/11/2022 00:49

Pleased to see you've said you'd call again and tell them you're going in. Fingers crossed everything is well.

nocoolnamesleft · 25/11/2022 00:52

Far better to go in, and find it's a false alarm, than not go in and wish to goodness that you had. Good luck.

PinkButtercups · 25/11/2022 00:57

Glad you're adamant about going in! You know your body best. I thought I was in labour but it was BH's! I never had them with my son but every midwife I've spoken to in this pregnancy (twins) are adamant any pain needs to be checked. Hope your pain eases for you x

minmooch · 25/11/2022 05:49

Hope you got seen and all is ok @HotSun1

bluebell34567 · 26/11/2022 01:27

i hope you and the baby are well op.

allboysherebutme · 26/11/2022 01:32

Hope you're all okay x

HotSun1 · 26/11/2022 12:09

Hello sorry for the late reply. I ended up going in and was sent straight home unless I had reduced movements.

I phoned up again last night and explained every thing to a new person on tbe phone, who was horrified I'd not been seen and she rung through to labour ward and said they need to at least see me and to go in.

Up I went and was put on the monitor,
the baby was in distress and her heart rate was going over 200, no explanation for this, trace couldn't be met and they kept leaving me on it, hoping it would settle I guess. I was
Told a doctor would be informed and would need to review every thing as obviously it isn't right.
Doc never came.

Urine showed it was full of white blood cells but as it's the weekend no one can tell me why as the labs closed so at my midwife appt on Monday they'll deal with that Confused.

The back pain they can't explain but said she's back to back which is what I was trying to explain it felt like, you know when the baby is back to back and you labour from the back only? It just feels like that.
I just feel very rushed out. Doctor refused to come up as was covering A&E apparently and The unit and it's running at 8.5hrs wait.

So I left there at 3am this morning more worried, more concerned and now dreading going into labour. All I know is my waters haven't gone as they swabbed me but they wouldn't even check to see if my cervix was open or am I in slow labour.
Just really worried about her heart rate now as I've never seen them go up in tbe 200s and they couldn't explain it Sad.

Goodness what a worry. I hope you're OK. Go back in and push to be seen again if you're in any doubt at all.

BuckarooBanzai · 26/11/2022 12:20

I'm no expert but have you got a uti op? If I remember rightly (my baby is 17 btw) they can cause labour. Hope everything improves for you soon OP.

terryschocolateorangee · 26/11/2022 12:21

Are you near any other hospitals op?

HotSun1 · 26/11/2022 12:22

That's what I'm wondering if it's a uti surely it needs treating incase it does set of labour? I'm 34+3 and tbh could account for the pain in my back but I won't know until Monday Confused

OP posts:
terryschocolateorangee · 26/11/2022 12:32

I went into early labour due to a uti at around 32 weeks.

I'm in Australia so I don't know how it works in the uk but I'd find another hospital or call a private ob.
