Hi everyone, I was due last week on the 16th, I started getting tightenings two weeks prior to this, most days, sometimes for a few hours, some days felt like babies head was pressing down and I would go into labour. Nothing happened though and since I had a sweep last Friday I've had no pains, my body had just stopped doing whatever it was doing. Baby is still moving fine, I was induced with first baby at 42 weeks but I never had any of these pains before so I feel like my body was gearing up for it this time, just not sure why it has stopped? I am avoiding being induced again, anyone had any experience like this? Thank you

Hi @Marnie174, I had these pains too with my second pregnancy and was convinced it was labour but it was braxton hicks. I hope something happens for you soon though.

I had lots of braxton hicks tightenings, one time for 5-7 hours continuously around 37-38 weeks, but nothing happened. I was induced at 40 bc of static growth, had closed cervix, no dilation.

they mean nothing, lots of women have them but no labour.

hope you start yours soon x
