Internal scan, pregnancy, cyst and bleeding

Hi I have a cyst on my ovary of around 2cm, I am also coming up to 6 weeks pregnant. I had an internal scan yesterday to check cyst again and have woken up with a gush of red blood, which has changed to lighter and now brown. My lower abdomen also feels bruised and so tender. I'm not sure if this is normal after an internal, if its a ruptured cyst or a start of a miscarriage. I know no one can tell me and I'm waiting from a call from EPU, but would appreciate to hear back from anyone who has been in a similar situation.

I haven't had a cyst but had two miscarriages and each time I've had bad cramping on and off before i started bleeding. Hoping EPU wil get back to you soon. If they don't then you can book a private scan at somewhere like "window to womb" etc. good luck x

I'm 16 weeks, but at 8ish weeks I had an internal scan and had a bleed afterwards which changed relatively quickly to brown bleeding. The EPU rescanned me a week later but all was fine. The sonographer thought the person who did my 8 week scan was perhaps a bit vigorous! Your cervix is more delicate during pregnancy. Fingers crossed xx

@rainbowsandmagpies that makes sense as she was trying to see my ovaries due to the cyst, so she was a little heavy handed. My lower abdomen feels tender

Yep! My scanner was trying to visualise one of my ovaries and was really pushing. I had a couple of paracetamol and a lie down after!

Ahh sorry, ignore my last post! @babybrainfart how did you get on at the EPU.

I am 8 weeks and also had some light bleeding on and off. I had a scan yesterday and everything looked fine (I am still lightly bleeding though).

My obgyn said it's common to have some bleeding in early pregnancy, but it should be always checked out.

I hope you are feeling better!
