Can rising blood pressure be normal or am I heading for preeclampsia again?

Hi all,

Second pregnancy, 29+4 today. I've been taking my blood pressure twice a day since I tested positive due to high blood pressure in my first pregnancy which ended in an induction at 37 weeks due to preeclampsia. My blood pressure has been great so far (117/70 average but very often lower readings of 106/67 etc).

Since Sunday, my blood pressure has been showing slightly higher, but still normal, readings such as 138/81. I've never had consistently higher readings like that this time round. this morning was 141/81. So it's clearly on the rise.

If anyone has any experience, could you please share yours? Could this be normal? Or am I heading for preeclampsia again? If it stays up, I'll call my doc and get some advice / meds. I'm determined to get to 37 weeks again...

Thanks all

best to discuss this with your midwife or gp.

are you comfortably warm?
cold can raise blood pressure.

Thanks for your reply. Not cold, I'm actually feeling quite warm in this pregnancy.

I've got an appt and scan in 2 weeks with my gynecologist but if it continues, I'll call in the next few days to discuss the blood pressure seeing as the numbers aren't worrisome yet.

At my booking appointment my blood pressure was good(110/70). At 16 weeks it started rising, and was kept an eye on and told to do it everyday. My readings are now about 125ish/80ish. They've just kept an extra eye on me. My midwife said to me there's no indication I would get preeclampsia. It's just pregnancy induced. Just tell midwife put I don't think that's indicative of preeclampsia. Maybe it would be a good idea to get some urine protein sticks from midwife so you can test your urine weekly.
